His outrageous thoughts are a little less than yours. :p

#5 and the now #6 going undefeated since they both have easily ridiculous schedules.....

i'd say mine's a bit more sound, especially since his miami have to beat #2 Ohio state, #15 Pitt, #20 FSU, ranked UNC, #17 GA tech, and a ranked Va Tech plus conf championship

Yes, but we both know that if they both are undefeated, there will be some way for one or both to be kept out to one loss teams or whatever else. Look at last years bowl games, both of those teams were predicted to play other teams in different bowl games, but instead they were matched up with each other, probably to do away with problems like this, having the possibility of these two teams being able to beat Iowa, GT, or whoever they were predicted to be matched up with.

Yes Miami does have a tough schedule, but lets just say both of your ideas are just outrageous..mmkay? :p

miami. because the other two were ranked higher first

the only way might be if miami jumps one of them early on...13 or 12 beating 2 might jump you to 6 but it's iffy; if miami's absolutely thumping these ranked teams early though, it may help

if they're still behind them later in the season though, can't say that it will

last year's a much different issue though, considering:

1) we had two other undefeated teams playing in the national championship and 2) these two teams had to start off 16 and 17 last year, and had to work their way up (the other two undefeateds were ranked ahead of them all year)

both these teams are starting off in the top 10 this year (so no "Auburn problem"....you know the whole started too low so your undefeated doesnt get high enough) and the general idea seems to be noone in the big conferences is good enough to bank on undefeated

unless Bama/UF/Texas/OSU stay undefeated, Boise and TCU are likely going to keep moving up if they keep winning, and if we don't see one of those other teams stay with a "0" in the loss column, then Boise and TCU would likely hit 1 and 2 in a scenario like this:

1) Boise 12-0
2) TCU 12-0
3) Bama/OSU/whoever 12-1

how do you get a 1 loss team above not only two undefeated teams, but the top 2 teams as well. How does one rightfully drop the #1 or #2 ranked team when they haven't lost the game; it's an extremely hard move to make and justify - especially for the pollsters, who rank teams pretty much solely off of a week to week basis - because it no longer becomes "does an undefeated Boise/TCU deserve to stay" but now "do we drop an undefeated #1/#2 team"

...i just dont think in the end they'll be able to do that in the end because it at that point becomes not about just who the teams are, but the prestige treatment that comes with those top 2 spaces

if they're the only undefeated teams left, they're not getting jumped by a 1 loss team. and if there's another undefeated left lower than them, they are going to have to put on a h-ll of a show to get the pollsters to jump them over a team that - right now - are ranked 5 and 6 and only move up if those top 4 don't all go undefeated

if the undefeated is OSU, boise OSU

if undefeated is Wiscy/Iowa...it's tricky; I'm not sure how quickly these two could make up enough ground to catch up to jump before the others hit 1 or 2, especially since they will probably need the OSU game to be the game that jumps them the very week that they do

That's where we differ. I very much think a 1 loss team could jump TCU or Boise. Boise has an easy schedule after Oregon State and if you have Bama who lost to a team early on, but goes on to win the SEC championship game, I could see them easily jumping TCU or Boise. I think the voters would try and stop Boise vs. TCU from happening.

IF Boise St. and TCU are the only 2 undefeated teams left and after all the political crap the BCS went through...how in hell can they NOT put Boise ST. and TCU in the game....IF they are the only 2 teams undefeated?

Because maybe some voters don't think they deserve to be 1 and 2?
