BCS Championship

Southern Cal could've won that game by 1 point and Arkansas still wouldn't have an argument to make it in the NCG over Southern Cal if they both end up with 1 loss.

i agree that Southern Cal would/should still be the title contender over arky. but there'd at least be more of a case. getting blown out at any point in the season by the team ahead of you on your turf completely ruins any argument you have. too post the argument on an opposing teams message board is even worse.

Sorry I posted on your board. Didn't realize this wasn't a free country anymore.

USC's out of conference schedule is tougher than Arkanasas plus they play one more conference game:

Arkansas, Nebraska, Norte Dame Vs.USC, Utah ST, SEMO, UL-Monroe

3 teams with winning records from major conferences Vs. 1 team with a winning record (loss) and 2 minor conference losers and a I-AA team that is 4-6.

Yeah but they conference schedule is pretty much laughable.

Combined records of all opponents for both teams (including USC and Arkansas in the numbers):

USC: 74-49 60.1% Ark: 60-61 49.5%

USC (minus Ark) 65-48 57.5%
Ark(minus USC):52-60 46.4%

Also, as of RIGHT now:

USC has 8 opponents who are bowl eligible, with TWO teams within 1 win (so they could hit 10).

Arkansas has 6 opponents who are bowl eligible with 1 team within 1 win (so they could hit 7).

i'm just sorry you posted this on any board. regardless of the other stats that Arizona comes up w/ that further proves USC, you not only got beat by USC, you got trounced. no reason to argue. Had UT ran the table after the florida game, I wouldn't have complained about florida being taken over us

I just don't think that the PAC 10 is the great. I do get off to it like some of the talking heads. I will have more respect for USC and the PAC 10 when they actually play a conference championship.

Arkansas is really good, but I don't see how they have any argument against USC. They've got the same problem Notre Dame has with Michigan.

But it doesn't matter because USC is going down to Cal this weekend then USC is going to turn around and beat ND and we will slip right in.

And so does every person that lives in Arkansas. Never thought I'd see the day that I would cheer for a freakin' PAC 10 team. It kinda makes me sick to my stomach.

Yeah . . . right after you beat LSU and Florida back to back

True. But the fact that we lost the first game of the season and took 9 wins to get respect is dumb. And the fact that they jumped back to #3 in the BCS after losing two weeks ago is ridiculous. They lost to an unranked team...we lost to a Top Five team almost 3 months ago.

Getting beat at home by 40 is the reason it took you so long to earn respect. I don't even like USC, but they clearly deserve to be ranked ahead of Ark. I dont' see how you can even argue otherwise.

Fair enough. But I don't see how they can be ranked #3 in the BCS after losing to Oregon State 2 weeks ago.

not a bad choice. if florida wins out, I don't know who I'd pick between the two... fortunately i think arkansas will beat them and solve the problem

They don't need to now. They play a round robin format.

BCS doesnt work cause it assumes all conference champs are worthy of a BCS bowl.

The Big East Champ or ACC champ can have 3 losses and they still get a BCS bowl game while the team they play may have one loss.

I would rather see no. 1 vs no. 2, no. 3 vs no. 4, etc. Not a fan of these autmatic bids.
