BCS picture becomes a little clearer...

yes it is......and i love it. so much left to do.....LSU/ARK, OSU/Mich, ASU/USC, ASU/AZ, KS/MIzzou, Big 12 title game, SEC title game......

a lot can still happen.......and i can't wait to see it all unfold......
well, let's see what has happened lately.....OK lost to TTU making the big 12 South up for grabs. ASU lost to USC, which puts USC back in the driver's seat for the Pat 10....(i'm assuming a Dixonless ORE team can get beat againt).

so the list has dwindled a little more. your title contenders now consist of:
LSU, Mizzou or KS if either win the Big 12, WVU and OSU.

the only thing that is for sure is that if LSU and Mizzou/KS win out, they will play for the title.

many, including myself, think that Mizzou beats KS and will ultimatley lose to OK in the title game, which eliminates the Big 12 winnner from the title game.

then it's up to the computers to decide........OSU or WVU. WVU is in the cat bird seat.....should the big 12 play out like that.

OSU is in the unenviable position of just watching and hoping.

and LSU....whoa. they have the SEC title game in the bag....they have a coach that is going to be scrutinized over the Michigan job until someone takes that job.

will LSU have a let down in one of the next two games?

If so, that opens up a lot of possibilities, but i'd have to say OSU and WVU would be in the title game, again assuming the big 12 plays out as described above...

it just keeps getting more and more interesting.

oh, and eveyrone should be glad that USC won't be in the title game. when they're healthy, they're good. i was very impressed with the defense last night.

holy crap.

i gotta say i was hoping LSU would win. I wanted to be ones to ruin their season.

but as that game went along yesterday, i guess it was a good thing that Ark won. If nothing else, the questions about Miles leaving should escalate, and that was a very physical game yesterday....lots of banged up folks during the game. oh well......let's just win today and see what happens next week.......maybe they'll be too distraught and have nothing left to play for?

as for the BCS....... well, we wanted chaos, we got it.

Mizzou and KS have the carrot dangled directly in front of them. and OK is now just waiting to snatch it away.

i still think OU wins the big 12.

and OSU/WVU play in the national title game.

but i'll be rooting for KS.

I so hope not, neither have done something to make them deserve that. I'll be rooting for Kansas at this point to make it.

I wonder if Hawaii will get into a BCS game?

Almost definately, against the least desirable automatic bid opponent possible, I'd reckon. Maybe UConn, if they beat WVU, someone like that. The "We only have these 2 teams playing because the BCS rules say we have to include them" Bowl

I don't see that happening, but I will surely hope for it!!

we have 10 teams total that play in the BCS Bowls and the NC. It's not necessarily the top 10 teams at the end of the season that go to these bowl games. The conferences that have a championship game have an advantage. It almost doesn't seem fair, obviously it's the way it is.

The BCS is junk, but it's what we have, now. The old Bowl System didn't work any better or worse, though.

I'm not a big playoff supporter at all, though. I just preferred the old imperfect system over the new one.

I still hate the new rule changes. If a mid major wants to get in, they should have to earn it like Utah.

what do you think the possibility of the BCS matchups could be? I guess that's a silly question with a couple more games to be played.

I can't say what the match ups will be, but I think the BCS field could include the following:
UT (giving us the benefit of the doubt)
Georgia at large
Oklahoma
West Virginia
OSU (plays WVU in the title game)
USC
Hawaii
Virginia Tech
Kansas (I'm saying they lose to Missouri and get an at large)
Illinois? It sounds impossible but if the games played out like in my imagination and the new rule changes, they may have a small shot.

tvols I can see your point about conference championships, if you lose that game your out of the BCS, even if that's your only loss, though I do like them. I wish other schools would have them.

fwiw, Hawaii beat Boise St. today, that should give them enough of a push to make it in if they beat Washington next week.
