I thought you said PSU would move up, they completely dropped out! I realy dont want to go to the Outback Bowl, at this point, not to mention the shaft they gave UT a few yrs ago.

so while i can't reveal sources, story is that if Florida beats Arky, Arky falls to the Cotton, LSU is in the Rose, Cap One doesn't want a Wisconsin-Auburn rematch and takes UT..... i know this doesn't hold water since no one knows where I got the info, but take it for what it's worth

Getting into the Capital One would be huge. At this point, I don't care which bowl we get as long as we don't slip below the Outback, Cotton or Chik-fil-A. Getting bumped to the Music City Bowl will cost some serious money.

I thought the Cap One was required to take the SEC #2 which is clearly the loser of the SECCG.

Again, if no. 11 Auburn gets stuck playing no. 32 PSU in the Outback they are going to be royally P.O.

Let SC or Kentucky go to the Outback, the Music City Bowl will have better competion then the Outback this year. The Outback royally screwed up inviting PSU early. They are unworthy IMO.

I'm telling you . . . This isn't about matchups. It's about payouts.

I think everyone has seen what happens to motivation when you play a team ranked way below you i.e. UT vs Clemson 2004 Peach Bowl.

The heck with motivation. I'll take the extra $1 million.

except w/ an Ark loss, LSU becomes #2 and they go BCS so the Cap One gets a freebie pick

UT would make more money playing an extra home game at Neyland.

I'm still p.o. at the outback for the shaft they gave UT in 2004. Considering how weak the outback is this year why not return the favor and skip them the way they skipped UT in 2004?

You'd get better competition this year in the Music City Bowl then the Outback. A Peach Bowl matchup against no.15 Virginia Tech would be a great game and an impressive win for the vols. Beating PSU not even ranked in top 25, wont get any respect from any knowledgeable fan.

I thought we got shafted by the Outback in 2003?

You could argue that they got us both years. In 2003 we were put on hold by the BCS and rather than wait to see what happened, the Outback went and invited a 5 loss Florida team instead.

In 2004, we were the SECCG loser and fell all the way to the Peach.

Exactly, why should UT jump to go play in the Outback against unranked PSU where if you slide to the Peach you get a great game with no.15 Virginia Tech? Plus UT will bring more fans in then local GA will. Gives UT an opportunity to give the Outback the shaft for a change.

If that's the option, I agree with you. It would be a better matchup and the payout is higher.

My whole thing is that I'd rather not see us slip to the Music City Bowl.

You guys are getting your history wrong.

In '03 we got passed for the outback and got blown out in the peach.

In '04 we lost the sec cg and played at the cotton bowl. Remember, a home game for texas a&m, Rick Clausen playing exceptionally well?
