ok, now it's down to crunch time.

PSU in for the Rose bowl.

Cincy in with w/Syracuse

FL/Bama in NT game with win in CG

Ore St in Rose w/win over Ore, USC in w/win over UCLA and Ore St loss.

ACC is a mess, i'll guess it's GT vs. FSU in the title game....i hope it's that anyway, that shoudl be a decent game.

and the big 12...i believe it will be OK/Mizzou in a rematch from last year....OK wins agian.

Utah and BSU both undefeated? both get an at large?

Natinoal title game is OK vs. Alabama.

what a coaching matchup...Stoops vs. Saban. Crimson and Creme vs. the Crimson Tide.

FL goes to the Sugar to play........? Cincy? Utah, BSU?

GT/FSU goes to the Orange to play.......Utah? BSU? Cindy?

who's in the fiesta? USC vs Ohio St? Utah?

Rose is Ore St vs. PSU.

my opinion..... Orange GT vs. Cincy

Sugar....Florida vs. Utah (Teacher vs. Student?)

Fiesta ....USC vs. TX....hard to pass up that rematch.

now, if Ore St loses to Ore...USC goes to the Rose, and the Fiesta then, can choose.....Ohio St? Boise State?

going to be interesting i think.

of the 4 SEC and Big 12 teams still in it....a match up of any of the four is giong to be very appealing.

but, say just for one second, Ore st loses, USC wins out and something wacky happens....like Mizzou beating OK in the title game or FSU beating FL and FL beating Bama.....who is in the NT game now?

USC vs...........PSU? TX?

or same scenario, save FL wins out, but Bama loses to Auburn, and FL wins the SEC....you have FL vs. USC in the NT game.

still a lot to happen in the next 3 weeks.

Cincy is going to the Orange if they beat Syracuse. (kinda fitting, Orangemen...Orange Bowl)

That was made abundantly clear if you watched the game.

Boise St. will be on the outside looking in if Utah wins this week as Utah is ranked higher and I don't see 2 mid-majors getting BCS invites.

Didn't see it. So,

Cincinnati vs ACC Champ in the Orange Bowl?

If Boston College wins this weekend, the ACC Championship will be, Georgia Tech vs Boston College.

I'm with you on Boise State, though I'm not 100% sure.

i didn't think the Big East had a sure bet to a BCS bowl...it was just a couple years ago GA played WVU? SEC Champ vs. Big Eat champ?

something must have changed recently........but anyway, the way i had it lined up had Cincy in the Orange against GT/FSU.

so there you go.

How will they decide who goes to the big 12 champ game?
Since there's a 3 way tie with tt, tex, and ou.
I haven't heard anyone give an explanation.

I believe that Missouri has already won the North. The South, if there is a two or three way tie that is not broken by tiebreakers such as head-to-head will ultimately come down to the team with the highest BCS ranking. That's why this weekend you will see in the rivalry games (i.e. Oklahoma v. Oklahoma State) a real emphasis on style points.

People will not be content to just win -- they will want to win convincingly.

highest rankings in the BCS........if it ended today, Texas would get the nod since they are ranked higher.

and if OK throttles OSU, knowing how well they played against TX.........i can see a lot of people vote OK ahead of TX........plus people just can't forget, even though TX won, the officiating in that game was, uh, suspect to put it nicely.

i'm having a hard time thinking that as the next week unfolds, that OU won't wind up passing the old eyeball test by the end of the year. throttle TTU and throttle OSU.......good way to end the year imo.

but you can bet you'll hear Mack Brown every day for the next two weeks telling everyone that'll listen the final score of the OU/TX game.......and rightfully so.

they did win it after all.

lets put this scenario out there.
texas goes to the big 12 just cause they're higher than OU or visa versa. but they lose to Mizz.
would that slide OU/TX up even though they didn't win their conference?
or would we see the SEC against USC?
or Penn St? i just dont see how you can be in the champ game w/o winning your conference.

I am really torn on how I feel about the situation brewing in the Big 12 South. On the one hand, all three teams have looked really good. OU and TT have at times looked downright spectacular on offense. Part of me thinks that those three teams are really the best in the country and that its a shame all three are in the same division of the same conference.

On the other hand, I wonder if the reason for this appearance is that all three teams have absolutely no defense and thatm if they went up against SEC speed, or how about USC's stifling D, would they be putting up the same gaudy numbers?

The memory of Florida-Nebraska Fiesta Bowl in '96 is still strong with me. You will never hear me underestimate a Big 12 team in the NT game, not with how they absolutely shredded Florida in that game.

if Mizzou wins the big 12, then it slides USC up most likely to play the SEC champ.

i don't see anyone voting OU/TX South Runner Up ahead of USC as 'co-Pac 10 Champions'

but that's the real stickler there........if Ore St beats Ore, then Ore St is the outright Pac 10 champ.

in any event, USC likely gets that spot. the only way Penn St gets in is if Bama or FL loses their final regular season game and wins the SEC title game.

then you could see Penn State vs. USC in the NT game. or possibly Utah vs. USC.

That sounds good. I think USC would be the only team out there that would have enough to beat UF/Bama. I still think the SEC prevails.
But, I would really enjoy USC playing the best of the SEC.

i'm inclined to agree with you here.

I don't think the Big 12 will win any awards for their defensive play, however, the offenses and qb's in that league are, i believe, that good.

to me, in particular the three South teams, the difference in scoring in the big 12 vs the SEC would be different, but instead of scoring 50 or 60 they might only score 30 or 40.

now, as to the teams respectively........i've never thought that OK was really worse than TX or TTU. After the TX/OU game, my first thought was how badly it was officiated. But, TX won.

Texas Tech to me is still a travelling carnival. i just can't take them seriously.

can't ignore the head to head of TX/OK, but i can't honestly tell you i think TX is THAT much better than OU.

in my heart of hearts, i think OU should, if they win the title game, go to the NT game.

But, I would really enjoy USC playing the best of the SEC.
let's just say there are 5 teams still realistically in it for the NT game.......USC, FL, Bama, OU and TX.......there's several match ups that i think are very intriguing......

USC defense vs. OU offense

Bama defense vs. TX offense

FL offense vs. OK defense

FL offense vs. USC defense

Bama defense vs. USC offense

purly speculation obviously, but to me, of the SEC teams left, FL is the best 'all around' team, offensively and defensively.

I think FL has enough offense to keep pace with OU, TX or USC, but has more defense than OU and TX.

Bama does not have the offense to keep pace with any of these teams.

of the big 12 teams, OU is much like FL, i think they play better defense than TX and offensively, they can match up with just about anyone.

USC however, is probably most balanced team of all the ones left. Great defensively (against, lets face it, a mediocre Pac 10), and plenty of weapons offensively.

the two games that are most appealing to me:

Florida vs. USC or Florida vs OU.

I agree with every sentence. Well put.

I'm picking UF to win it all.
Tebow is the best player in the country.
He may not have the stats like the big 12 QB's but he doesn't have too.
He is the all around best college f-ball player.

UF will beat BAMA by 2 td's.

all the florida slurping going on, self included, i still wont' be surprised to see Bama shut FL down and win a nail biter.

Bama won't go away quietly, and FL won't beat them by 2 TD's unless Bama helps them.

Bama is good folks. they just are flashy. thus no one really thinks about them in the same fashion as we do Fl, OU, USC, TX etc.....

Bama is sound, but UF looks untouchable right now.

It wouldn't be a shocker, but I'd be a little surprised.
