I think Wisconsin loses this week against Minnesota

They have played 3 common Big Ten opponents so far, and both beat all three. Minnesota rolled over the three by a combined 104-24, Wisconsin won but the games were closer 64-22.

I'd love to see it happen

Maybe the pollsters we realize the Tennessee loss was the fluke and not the Georgia win.

I love the Vols as much as anyone here but to call Auburns win against the Vols a "fluke" is absurd. They came to Neyland and handed us our asses, give credit where credit is due.

That's true--they came to Neyland and kicked us around, but we weren't playing very well. I think if both our defense and offense step up in the SECCG, we have a good chance at taking home the trophy.

Agreed, Auburn played much better than Tennessee. But without 6 turnovers, the game would have been much closer (and don't forget the blocked punt). The Vols were in scoring range 5 times, but scored only 10 pts. Half of the Auburn points came after Vol turnovers. The 6 turnovers is the most a Tennessee team has had since the 1940's.

If the Vols don't get credit for beating Georgia in Athens and its just "Georgia played poorly," then I'll take the stance that Auburn should not get credit for beating Tennessee, that 'Tennessee just played poorly.' Otherwise, the Vols should be ranked ahead of Georgia... period.

Think about this. Georgia is ranked 6 spots ahead of the Vols in the coaches' poll. Both teams have the same record... similar strength of schedule. However, Fla State is only 2 spots behind the Vols... they have 2 losses.... and just lost to an unranked team with a losing record!!! :yikes:

I think the computer polls have us just about right...as well as the AP poll. It's the Coaches Poll that I find troubling. I've been pondering why they're keeping us so low -- #11 this week while Georgia is #5.

Does anyone think the Coach Fulmer/Alabama/NCAA scenario has anything to do with this? I'm not a conspiracy theorist...but it's an angle to explore.

Think about it. Do the coaches that vote in the poll see Fulmer as a tattler (not that I do, just throwing it out there)? Therefore, they're keeping us low in the polls? Some kind of "thumbing of the nose" by the coaches? Sure, we're not winning pretty and we're by no means a National Championship calibur team. However, we're 7-1 after a very good schedule. Maybe a win over a mediocre Notre Dame team will give us some street cred with the coaches.

Remember, there were alot of coaches, not just Fulmer, involved in giving information to the NCAA regarding Alabama's improprieties. Only Fulmer's was leaked during the trial in Memphis. The bammer lawyers have singled Fulmer out as the sole person responsible... regardless of the fact that the NCAA has said that Fulmer's information did not influence the case.

If coaches are doing it because of Fulmer.... it is shameful, because they are hurting the kids more than Fulmer.

Maybe the bammers are stuffing the ballot boxes?

After Tennessee beat Georgia, I immediately examined the other 1-loss teams and their biggest victory of the season...

California -- 4th in BCS -- Up until last weekend, Cal's biggest win was over unranked UCLA (5-3). However, they now have a win over No. 23 Arizona State (6-2). Not as impressive as a win over No. 5/8 Georgia in Athens. Who they lost to: No. 1 USC

Texas -- 7th in BCS -- The Longhorns best is against unranked Texas Tech (5-3). Not as impressive as a win over No. 5/8 Georgia in Athens. They do have upcoming games against No. 19 Oklahoma State (6-2) and No. 22 Texas A&M (6-2). Who they lost to: No. 2 Oklahoma

Georgia -- 9th in BCS -- The Dawgs best win is against No. 17 LSU (6-2). However, they did lose at home to some team from Knoxville. Who they lost to: No. 9/11 Tennessee

Miami -- 10th in BCS -- The 'Canes have been flirting with disaster the last few weeks. There best win was over No. 13 Florida State (6-2) Not as impressive as a win over No. 5/8 Georgia in Athens. Who they lost to: UNRANKED North Carolina

Michigan -- 11th in BCS -- The Wolverines best was against No. 20 Iowa (6-2). Not as impressive as a win over No. 5/8 Georgia in Athens. Who they lost to: UNRANKED Notre Dame

Virginia -- 14th in BCS -- They did beat unranked North Carolina (4-4) woop-de-do! Who they lost to: No. 13 FSU

West Virginia -- 16th in BCS -- They beat unranked Maryland (4-4). another woop-de-do! Who they lost to: No. 18 Virginia Tech
