Because we actually won....

What did I miss? Creamer? I've heard different positions listed for him. At 223 pounds and running a 4.68, he certainly doesn't seem like any prototypical wide receiver prospect.

Have we not had 3 WRs decommit? Powell, Lauderdale, and Booth, right?

And so we have a juco guy and Wharton, right? Not really the kind of class that makes you very confident, given the poor receiver play that we've had this year, as well as Azzani's suspect record of developing talent at the position.

Our passing game has been execrable and we're just adding two wideouts in this class and no QB. Is that not worrisome?

why was Booth told he could not be an EE?

I haven't watched much of Pearson. What makes him "way better"?

Cause he is still committed if he decommits then Vic Wharton and or Creamer are better than him. OR if Pearson had decommited then Booth would have been WAY better than Pearson.
Would have loved to have Booth stay committed.

I'm fine with it. Would like to keep all the commits but we have plenty of receivers and most have a lot of upside. I would like to go get a 4* DT or RB at this point if there's one to be had.

This. I'm far more concerned with our DL than out WR corp. I dream of the Haynesworth/Henderson-tandem days.

And if they all decommit, it's cool, because current true frosh Josh Smith is way better, and would've kept them from seeing the field anyway. :)

We did not have room for him as an EE and he wanted to EE somewhere. He also did not want to take the chance of not being an EE and waiting because we will fill the entire 35 without a problem. He is a good player but we do not have the space in the EE slot for him...bigger issues to get better at....

Lets say the coaches have a solid silent from Malone. As in, they're 100% sure that Malone is coming here.

They'll have Malone as a FR and Pearson as a JUCO. They're both unanimously higher ranked recruits than Booth. Additionally, this is also by the coaches own scouting. Scout agencies and the coaches place Malone/Pearson higher.

We also have the #1 WR in 2015 committed.

We also have North who will be a Soph, Howard who will be a RS JR and Croom who will be a RS SO on roster.

Playing time doesn't look good. We need DL/LB/DB/OL more than another 3/4* WR that is just going to fester on the bench. Not to name names, but there are definitely 4* WRs just festering on UT's bench right now. They couldn't outplay walk-ons this year.

So maybe, maybe, think about where UT is right now before opening up a stinkhole and complaining irrationally.

If I understand it correctly, we can only have as many EE's as we have players leaving. 14 seniors are leaving, so we only have room for 14 EE's, and those 14 spots have already been claimed.

You guys really should read up in the Recruiting Forum before you freak!

Basically, there is no limit to the number of EEs your class can have as long as, with the addition of EEs, you stay within the confines of your 85-player limit. Being said, Tennessee has space for either 14 or 15 EEs (can't remember-- we'll say 14). Unfortunately, Booth wanted to EE, but the coaches decided that he should not be one of the 14. At this point, it boils down to who is more of an 'asset,' and who may be 'expendable.' This is exactly why people say recruiting is not for the feint of heart. Anyhow, we all feel relatively confident that Malone will be sliding into Booth's "place" on Wednesday, who is a much better and highly regarded WR (as Butch Jones said, an immediate game changer). Additionally, Pearson is phenomenal, so before you knock him, check out his HUDL video... definitely looks like the second coming of Cordarelle. On a similar note, Booth's senior video/stats were not overly impressive. Now, we are also expecting another few commits... Mosley on Friday, then potentially another JUCO DT and a RB. Given everyone we plan on coming in, this is when the game gets tricky, and Butch has to juggle EEs, blue-shirts, and grey-shirts. It's really too bad for Booth, because the kid is still a baller in my eyes, but as the addage goes, there are bigger fish in the sea... Indiana will probably be where he goes, which is good because it's more a fit for Booth, he's closer to home... and we don't have to play him. Finally, as someone else pointed out, we also have the #1 WR committed (and seemingly VERY solid) for 2015 in Preston Williams.. so even if Pearson goes pro after one year (see CP), we'd be looking at North, Malone, and Williams as our starting WR corps, which would make it safe to call us, and I firmly believe this... #WRU :)

Maybe Santa Claus gave us a silent commit too, but it would be silly to assume that is the case until something is actually announced.

We get Malone and all will be forgiven. If not we must fire Butch Jones.

Yes because there are no signs pointing to Malone signing with UT. Are you just intentionally this dense or do you have to bludgeon yourself repeatedly on the head before posting?

TBH, I've thought Booth might wind up in this position from the very beginning but was hoping otherwise. He wanted badly to commit to us earlier in the process and his rankings have gone back and forth on the services and last time I checked they'd been dipping. There were always questions over whether or not he was legit because of the competition he played against. I've always liked him because it was clear he wanted to be here but it's also been clear that something was off about his recruitment situation to begin with.

At any rate, I wish he could've made it on personality alone but things don't always work out between a recruit and a team for all kinds of reasons. I wish him nothing but the best.
