It’s mainly my dad and brother, but I help out when in town. Check out flow hives. Pretty sweet if you want a less labor intensive yield.

From what I understand, a virus, sort of like the flu, is killing them in Tennessee right now.

It doesnt hurt live bees, but kills the undeveloped
bee

Its easy to treat, but you have to treat the hive. So its hard on wild bees

Covid-19. I've heard about it.

What are the chances of killer bees converting your hives?

Very little. Their pamphlets aren't any good at all.

Do we have any beekeepers on Volnation?

Wanting to take up beekeeping

I have a large garden and assortment of fruit trees(pears, apples, peaches) and was looking to start a couple of hives

Plus, eating localized honey can help with allergies and I love eating it on a hot biscuit

If there are, any of you guys have any tips?

May I ask what area you live? East TN still is suffering in bees being lost so I hope you started some hives. I especially enjoy sourwood honey and there was a little more last year but bees in the mountains have suffered quite a bit,
