I don't drink the big macro stuff because I'm not a fan of th flavor. Now I do respect the ability to brew an extremely consistent beer. May not be a good tasting beer, but a bud in Nashville tastes the same as one in Seattle. That is incredibly hard to do...I just don't like how it tastes.
Excellently stated! Can not agree more. Very impressive from an operations stand point what the macro breweries do. But at the end of the day, the ingredients are thin, the taste is weak and more unnatural.
The point about being snobs or looking down on macros is valid. To each their own. My German relatives and younger friends love to have a bud or miller when they visit. They call them "water beers" and their theory is the heat and humidity (they've only been in the South) is why watery light beers are preferred here.
I'm with most of the others, micro just plain tastes much richer, fuller and fresher. But I don't look down on anyone that likes macros, most of my friends are macro drinkers and I'm the weird freak that keeps making them try funky stuff.
