Belichick is 22-27 with New England without Brady and he was 36-44 in Cleveland. So 58-71 all time without Brady and in 8 seasons without Brady he only made the playoffs once and that was in Cleveland.

Oh and the Bucs hadn't made the playoffs in 13 years but the first year Brady is there they make the playoffs. I don't like him but he deserves more credit for those championships than Belichick.

And without any context, this ******** actually sounds convincing.

Throw out whatever stats you want, Brady is missing at least 4 rings without BB's defensive genius. The Rams SB is a ridiculous case study on what BB brings.

They won those SB's together.

No

BB has gone 18-14 with Matt Cassell and and a QB (Newton) that can't throw it 15 yards. BB won the only Browns playoff game in the last 30 whatever years until yesterday. You can the spin the **** out of events if people don't know what happened.

Who drafted him? No one else was interested.

Yeah in the 6th round. He didn't know what he was getting anymore than anyone else.
But no one else drafted him. He gets credit for that. And if you think he's bad coach you are really incompetent. The man won 11 games with Matt Cassell as QB.

Yep. The year Brady got hurt in 1st game of the year, the Pats went 11-5. They didn't make the playoffs, but it showed their organizational structure prevailed. Established by Bill. The year before they went 18-1 with Brady having one of the best arsenal of offensive weapons in history, but still lost the Super Bowl because Brady couldn't adapt to the Giants' defensive pressure. The Patriots held the Giants to 17 points. An unheard of winning total in the modern era. Belichick's defense did their job. Brady folded

Keep in mind that Belichick is, in fact, a big fan of Trump. He penned this letter to Donnie in Fall, 2016:

"Congratulations on a tremendous campaign. You have dealt with an unbelievable slanted and negative media, and have come out beautifully – beautifully. You’ve proved to be the ultimate competitor and fighter. Your leadership is amazing. I have always had tremendous respect for you, but the toughness and perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable. Hopefully tomorrow’s election results will give the opportunity to make America great again. Best wishes for great results tomorrow.

Bill"

Maybe that's turned into "was"

Most likely Bob Kraft. Multiple reports early yesterday said that Belichick wanted to and still planned to accept the award.

I have trouble believing this. Maybe he begrudgingly decided this was the right move but if it's an order from the top that he disagrees with, why would he itemize fake reasons for not accepting? Seems like TMI. The BB way would be to say "no thanks" and leave it at that.

Why? The award has become nothing more than a soccer participation trophy at this point.
Agreed.

The Medal of Honor has specific criteria that needs to be met: "A member of the service who distinguished himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty".

The Medal of Freedom is up to the discretion of the President and has incredibly broad criteria that can apply to damn near anyone: "For especially meritorious contribution to (1) the security or national interests of the United States, or (2) world peace, or (3) cultural or other significant public or private endeavors".

In the hands of a self-absorbed President such as Trump, it is basically just a way to reward those who have faithfully and unconditionally supported his own selfish personal interests. Flunkies such as Devin Nunes and Jim Jordan have them now.
