Took a late 3 by Duke to give them the separation to hold on for a 77-76 win at home to Belmont. Gotta say I was very impressed with Belmont and the coaching job by Byrd. They're a tough, tough nut.

Belmont is a good team.

Or pissed them off...

This is what I thought of.

But, I don't know of anyone on Duke's roster right now that has that killer instinct like Reddick had, and it sure isn't gonna be Steph Curry's little bro.

Tennessee dominated a team that dropped its first 15 games last season. Duke plays a lot of young players, but still beat a 30 win team from last season. Everyone put the two in perspective.

So, you don't think Tennessee could beat Belmont by 1 point? I do. Or, are we going to get the "Belmont's a superpower" argument?

So, you're going to do the "Belmont's a superpower" argument.

Vols are???
Poster said it wasn't a given that the Vols would beat Belmont and your response ^. Surely you don't think its going to take a superpower to beat the 2011 Vols. Wish it were true but that will be disproved sooner than we all want to admit.

He didn't say Vols were. Duke should have killed Belmont, they didn't. Belmont is good, but they are not Duke good.

Nobody is saying that the Vols are world beaters, but they are not as bad as some like to think.

Duke will eliminate the amount of mistakes they made at the end of the game. Coach K really let them play, instead of coach at the end. I think he wants them to learn from thier mistakes.

Duke will get Kenny Hall in foul trouble and kill us in the post. Mason Plumlee has really, really improve and may be Duke's best player this year. He had a huge game last night and Duke will be feeding him the ball more often this year.

Jordan McRae needs to attack the basket, Duke's perimeter D is weak when Curry, Rivers and Dawkins are in the game. Thorton brings another dimension to their team on defense, he is a smarter version of Melvin Goins.

TIFWIW, Belmont plays Memphis next.

I'd honestly call it a big game for Memphis due to Rick Byrd easily being the better coach, because I still haven't seen anything from Pastner that shows me he'd be able to take them on a deep postseason run regardless of talent level.

Should be a good game, I think Pastner will be ready.
