I've held doors for all people, not just females. The amount of "thank you"s i get now compared to 20 years ago is sobering. Certain genders, ethnicities, and age brackets are more apt to still be gracious.

I hold doors for everybody, not just women. The study is flawed.

But at my young age, I'm surprised by the shallow amount of "thank you" remarks that I do receive.

OK - female perspective - I actually hold the door open for anyone if I get to it first. Some men go through and say thank you. Some men step behind me to hold the door and I don't protest. :)

Regarding car doors - that is such a waste of time! I open my door and exit! :)
