Berry Twins

I think the Twins get downplayed pretty bad. They're both really fast smart player's. I'd love to see them develop into starter's. Imagine the communication they'd have if Evan was a corner and Elliot was a safety on the same side.

I like the sound of that. No need for apostrophes in plurals, though. :)

(Sorry, that's my pet peeve - you may not have even realized the mistake)

I read that Elliot would start on offense trying RB, and Evan on defense as a CB? Any truth to this?

I kinda like that. We do need competition at the CB opposite of Sutton. Don't forget, he came in as a true freshman and look what he did.

If I didn't know better, I'd want someone to tell me. It wasn't meant in a derogatory way. Sorry if it came across offensive.

No biggie bro I'll try to think about my grammar and spelling more (on a football board) as to not disturb your peeve's :)

Elliott told Ainge that he was coming in as a nickel/safety. This is what was said on his show. I assume it is accurate since Ainge would have a means of talking to him.

It completely depends on what kind of shape they show up in when they hit campus...

I truly believe they both have the talent to contribute as true freshmen.

But if they do not show up in tip top shape, it will be middle of the year before we see them..

There Track Athletes. Did you not see the 10.6 evan ran the other day. They stay in shape

KBvol will be in here in a sec to tell us they'll replace McNeal and Randolph.

In case you missed this in the other thread 25...

NCAAF Tennessee spring wrap - ESPN

3. Safety help: Safety has been a problem the last couple of years for the Vols, as too many times big gains have turned into bigger gains and touchdowns. Junior Brian Randolph is going to need help, and that help probably will have to come from a trio of freshmen who haven't arrived -- Rashaan Gaulden, Todd Kelly Jr. and Cortez McDowell.

WHAT?!?!?!?

I wouldn't be surprised if McNeil slips to 3rd on safety depth chart unless he improves his decisiveness, reaction time, ability to read plays and hones angle of pursuit.

not sure. will wait til fall camp starts.

but def special teams bc they can both fly. Maybe they can break into the rotation on defense. Not sure. got to see what position they play before you worry about how much they play.

Heir Berry??

Nb4 Volforlife25 tells you your statement is laughable, wants you to provide sources to back up your opinion, or says any of the freshmen safeties (TKJr, Gaulden, McDowell) that might take his spot can only cover 16 year old high schoolers who work at second rate grocery stores.

I'm hoping that Utah St. game will be a blowout too. I know a lot of people are calling for a close one, but I think we even have to many athletes for Utah St. to handle.

It is a Western ky type game, could be close ,they have just as much experienced talent, and an experienced Qb to boot.

Sorry but that's the truth

Sorry if this has already been brought up but I was just wondering how much playing time we should see out of the twins this season. Do you think they will start?

I guess I can understand being bored and just wanted to start an irrelevant thread but...How could
anyone on here answer any of these questions? Once we get to September the coaches will put the best players we have out on the field.

It's hard to rate the Berry twins. They were basically un-recruited by other teams in the sense that teams didn't put as much effort as they would into those they see more likely to commit and that was because everyone in America assumed they were automatic Vols. Recruiting services often bump athletes that every school is trying to recruit and they certainly pay more attention to how they rank them.

I think they're probably under-rated because of the low profile they had as recruits. At the same time, I think that's a very good thing for both of them. It can't be easy being compared to Eric so having had a lower recruiting profile allows them to shine on their own a little more easily when they do hit the field.
