Okay, so I was 10 or 11 years old. I was into exploring woods or needlepoint. Dad said: show me your fist. I did. He said that if I continued to keep my thumb tucked in, I would break it. He was right. I have hit back over the years. Hands are still intact.

Was 10 and with my dad when he was buying a new sofa. They had so many to choose from and he quickly picked one out. I said dad, how will I know what kind to get when I grow up? His answer… You get what you can afford.

Try. Strive. You won't always win. You will fail. Learn from it and move forward towards your goal.

"Never play 13, 31 and the corners there of for any seriously length of time for any serious amount of money. It doesn't work.'

Use a condom. Don't try to give me that crap about not feeling anything. You're young. You loose your wad just thinking about getting lucky. A condom still the best protection against pregnancy or disease. You're too young and stupid to be a father. You've got a lot of growing up to do. You contract an incurable disease, it'll handicap your future. Wear a condom, idiot.

Edit: Yes, that’s from my dad when I was a teen.

Accountability - If I made a mistake or a dumb choice, my parents made me suffer the consequences, no help from them

When I was 18, my parents told me I could go to college, join to the military, or find a job, but I couldn’t stay home and live with them.

I didn't listen for too many years while I lived paycheck to paycheck unnecessarily, but:

"Always save. If you can only afford to save $20 a paycheck, then save that. Even if you can only afford to save $5 a paycheck, then save that. A lot of people say that they can't afford to save, but you can't afford not to save."
