Makers is quality stuff. Actually, I have no problems with any of the "name" bourbons. I draw the line at Colonel Lee and Old Grandad. Those are certain to induce ulcers if consumed in any susbstantial quantity.

Anyone consuming such on a regular basis is certainly on their way out.

It was a sad day when Sam and Andy's and the Roman Room left the strip. Since then, it has just snowballed. I hear that now there is even a club that is solely for teenagers on the strip...

What has happened to the strip over the past 10 years is, in the very least, disgraceful for UT.

Me...The Last Lap, mid '70s. No one worked the beer taps better

Did you have to break up any Cowboy and Indian fights in that Saloon?

Having lived in KY for a while, I have developed an affinity for Makers Mark, mostly because of the genious of Bill Samuels. That guy could market donkey meat.

If a man loves the brown stuff, living in KY is paradise.

Maker's is a fine product (enjoying it right now) - makes the marketing all that much easier.

I'm also partial to Woodford Reserve.

I loved Monday nights in the early 90's at the library with Tall Paul.

TP was one of my early inspirations to play acoustic guitar. It's still hard to play "Romeo and Juliet" without reminiscing about nights at the Library and Lap.

There is still an animal hour at one of the last bars on the strip Charley Peppers. Sadly, the strip has fallen on hard times. The bars still there are OCI, Tap Room, Copper Cellar, and Charley Peppers. Chili's is technically a bar, but it closes at midnight. There are couple of other bars that open and close occasionally, such as New Amsterdam and the 3 million bars that have occupied the space where Ruby Tuesday's used to be. Cool Beans is also around, althought it's actually a bit off the strip. The tailgating this football season won't be the same, in my opinion. The strip has gone to hell. Just look at the remains of O'Charleys it's a dilapidated, graffiti-covered dump.

I was back last year for the first time in about 10 years and your statement sums up my experience. What a shame.

Hey B-ham. You hit the nail on the head with Animal hour.

The old 3-for-1 where they put all 3 in a big water glass. Those stairs got pretty difficult to navigate at times...
