Best Defense

yet, Kansas managed to put 34 points on the board with over 400 yards of offense.

When will you guys realize with the great offensive personel today and they way offenses spread the field you won't be able to just dominate an offense anymore. I think an explosive offense would exploit a weakness in any defense. You've got to look Auburn just faced a team with first-round draft pick talent on the edge. As good of a defense as they are the guys they were going against were tremendous athletes. U cant keep them out all game. I think LSU would blow OSU out again if they were to play. OSU is probably the most overrated team out there.

In my unbiased opinion I think south carolina needs to be mentioned. I would put SoCal ahead of ours but I don't think many others. We've already knocked out a QB this year in Russell Wilson and put Stafford on his ass for a series. E-Cook is a clone of Bob Sanders with already 35 tackles, Darian Stewart hits almost almost as hard as him and can play linebacker and safety. Captain is a future 1st-2nd round pick. Jasper Brinkley and Eric Norwood are All-SEC players who will be 1st day draft picks.

Sure you don't want me to move this discussion to your "USC isn't that good" thread?

TCU has a surprisingly good defense so far. We'll see how it holds up against Oklahoma.
Yesir I'm lookin forward to that match-up...might even be a upset special watch.

I just said what I liked in a defense. Its what's called MY OPINION. I guess I have to think like you.

That's fine, but what you like in a defense is the exact problem with a lot of defenses, everyone wants to make the big hit. I am with the poster that said they want defenses that wrap people up and make tackles, those are much more effective.

USC has dominated the offenses they have faced to this point, where is your argument for that?

Those offenses aren't really that explosive. Virginia and OSU.:eek:lol:

You didn't put qualifiers on it, you just said "it is hard to dominate an offense"

Since you were talking about Auburn, I figured I could translate that as "any offense."

Missouri
Florida
Texas
Penn State
Georgia
Texas Tech
Kansas
Oklahoma
Oklahoma St.
BYU

There's 10 for ya.
that group has sure made the rounds against a bunch of uber tough defenses. They've all proven where they stand.

USC obliterating OSU proved nothing. OU demolishing UW, however, was proof.

You forgot about those defensive powers that are SEMO and Buffalo. Judging from those games, Mizzou will probably throw 115 up on Texas.

Also, let's not forget about what Georgia did to Central Michigan.

Seriously man, no one is going to think any less of you if you just admit you are wrong about USC

Wow I'm wrong. Oregon St. right up the middle with a freshman on this great tackling best defense in America. What a shocker? Up the Middle where Big play Rey plays. U guys are hilarious. Boy what a performance.

I will admit they were caught off guard by the speed and shiftiness of this runner. They were caught sleepwalking and got out coached. Or st's players played with emotion and heart and that won the game for them.

So in other words they looked slow on defense.:hi:

No they couldn't tackle a very small, very quick and shifty running back. He gave them fits. Never said USC was slow. Are they the fastest defense out there, hell no, but that probably has a lot to do with their size.

They also weren't as nasty as advertised. Its was just a big let down.
