That's a good classic list. I watched Donnie Brascoe angain Friday. I'd like to read the book to get a little more detail.

I know this post is five years old but Donnie Brasco is a great book. It goes into so much more detail than the movie. A continuation of the story is Donnie Brasco: Unfinished Business where he goes into a lot of details that he couldn't get into in the first book because of all the trials that were taking place. If you're interested in La Cosa Nostra, I highly recommend both books.

I like any gangster film with James Cagney or Bogart. The movie "The Departed" was good & I thought the ending to that movie was cool. I like all those that have been listed except a few here & there.

I can't believe there are people in this thread that said they didn't like Gangs of New York. That movie is in my top 3 easily.

By far my favorite film, seen it 25-30 times. Don't know if I would classify it as a mob movie though, more about police corruption and Hollywood sleaze.

I personally think it's hard to beat Scorsese flicks. Casino, Goodfellas and The Departed are easily my top three.
