The guy who designed it left Princeton and took it with him to Michigan in 1938. So I wouldn't say they ripped it off anyone

Details, details. Their much-vaunted winged helmet came from an Ivy League school. It may not be a ripoff job on the order of the Leghumpers appropriating the Green Bay Packers' logo, but you still can't give Michigan full marks for using someone else's material.

Shorter University helmet. Small private university in GA has a pretty rockin' design
