This is one of the most misquoted movie lines…his line is actual “I’ll be your huckle bearer”. A huckle being the handle on the side of a casket. He is telling Ringo he’ll be there to carry him to his grave.

When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion here, but I also remembered Tombstone being amazing. But a few months ago, I watched it with someone who had never seen it. It wasn't nearly as good as I remembered it being. Without Val Kilmer's lines, it would have been really bad.

And his partner's reply: 'I'm your Huckleberry'.
Surprised no one has corrected this statement on here yet. The actual line is " I'm your huckle bearer." which is the saying for a pallbearer as the huckle is the term for the handle used on a coffin. And not trying to be a smarta$$ as I had to look the line up from the movie once to try and prove someone else wrong and I lost the bet.

Negative ghost rider.........the line was in fact "I'm your Huckleberry."

From the link below: "In the 1800s, the phrase “I’m your huckleberry” was used to mean “I’m the one you want,” or “I’m the right one for the job,” or “I’m the right match.” Essentially, it meant that one was up to the task at hand."

This is a very well documented phrase in the 1800's.

Val Kilmer even addressed the rumor in his book, I’m Your Huckleberry: A Memoir.

By the way, despite some fans’ contention that in the 1800s the handles of caskets were called huckles and thus word huckle bearer was a term for pall bearer, I do not say, ‘I’m your huckle bearer.’ I say, ‘I’m your huckleberry,’ connotating, ‘I’m your man. You’ve met your match.'”
The screenplay’s text says huckleberry, Kilmer named his book after the line, and countless newspaper articles use the phrase in the same context. So we can all be the huckle bearers of this rumor and put it in the ground for good.

Tombstone is stellar........Earlier movies.... The Outlaw Jose Wales, and The Long Riders are also hard to beat.

I reckon so....
Please don't leave out '92 'The Unforgiven', with the great Clint Eastwood and all star cast. '...you should've armed yourself before you decorated the front of your saloon with my friend'. (maybe loose quote)

Wow, she must just love Costner because Earp isn't in the same solar system as Tombstone. Russell was brilliant in the role while Costner is his usual piece of wood.
Completely different movies. Wyatt Earp with Costner is more biographical while Tombstone is focused on a specific time/event in Earp's life. Both were great and I love both of them. It doesn't have to be either/or, but of course, that's the discourse of today's culture

Edit: Not taking anything away from Russell because he was fantastic in Tombstone, but Costner is on another level as the cowboy type

For all into modern westerns, check out Old Henry. 2021 film, i believe. Good stuff.

My sister and I have this fierce debate on which movie is better. She prefers Wyatt Earp (Kevin Costner) and I of course prefer Tombstone.
Both have pros and cons. I always felt that Wyatt Earp felt more authentic, but Tombstone was more entertaining. I liked both.
