Cute story about the dress, Coach Kellieā€™s postgame quotes:

On how much orange she had before coming to Tennessee vs. now:
"Okay, so none. I didn't have any orange. I've not coached an orange team in my career, so I have purple, red, and maroon, but no orange. Finding Tennessee orange in coaching attire is really difficult. This was as close as I could get to orange. I walked in the shop, and I haven't had any time to go shopping, let's just say that, but I was out and about, and I walked into a shop. Something caught my eye, I walked over there, and it was orange. I walk in and look at the piece and look at another piece, and the lady said, 'You must really love orange!' Yes, yes I do. I proceeded to try on every piece of orange clothing that was in the store. Now, the lighting in here, you might think it's red, but according to the lady I bought it from, she convinced me that it was orange.ā€

Funny. Coach Kellie wants the team to have fun, maybe we can have some, too. Btw, I thought the heels looked nice, too. GO LADY VOLS, BEAT ND!!!

ā€œBest of allā€? Really??? Have you actually been wasting precious time in your life considering the Lady Vol Worthiness of the coachā€™s wardrobe?

Evolve. Please!
Get over yourself. He may think sheā€™s attractive, or likes seeing a female wearing a dress and not business suit attire. Or who knows. For that matter who cares. I don't and neither should you. Enjoy the positive comments about UT sports male and female. Theyā€™ve been few and far between lately.

I understand where lvocd was coming from. During Holly Warlick's tenure, this site and social media were flooded with posts making veiled and not so veiled disparagements of her appearance and sexual orientation. Once Kellie was hired, a lot of comments starting popping up proclaiming how wonderful it is to have a real woman as coach, or real feminine energy on the sideline, or someone who looked like a real women and so on.

And probably some are just fine with that kind of thinking but lvocd (and I put myself in this camp) find it troublesome. In this context, it is is easy to read comments about how nice it is to see the coach in a dress (which Holly never wore) as another dig.
Holly deserved to be criticized for her coaching failings but there was an additional level of vitriol that reflected these extraneous factors.

But the reality is that Kellie Harper is hetero, blonde, tall, thin and pretty (photogenic), and poised in public. She pushes all the right buttons and those are cultural advantages that will help win over fans, media and probably translate into recruiting success (though Holly did pretty well on that dimension though lacking Kellie's social presentation advantages).

Thank you, madtownvol. That was the perfect explanation of why I am so sensitive about the subject.

Someone in the opening game thread pointed out the entire staff was wearing matching Oregon-style sweats. I kinda dig the look, to be honest.
