Beating Kansas when we shoot the lights out was a great win, but it came when we shot the lights out.

Beating a legit top 25 team when we cannot throw a ball into the ocean is an awesome accomplishment.

Stephen I cannot fathom why you cannot hit free throws. I am glad you do not have the guilt on your shoulders of knowing we lost because of you.

The team UGA beat in Ga Tech just beat UNC in Chapel Hill (was a close game at the end but GT was up 20 at one point). I am sure we will be told by some that Ga Tech sucks and the SEC is still no good.

Charleston just got win 11, but they are terrible also.

Seems early to call a must win, but Florida has to beat LSU. Xavier beat Dayton to get to 12-5 and 4-0 in the A10 and Florida still gets to play them OOC.

Alabama did itself no favors if it wants to be in the NCAAs when it lost to Arkansas. If Pelphrey had not suspended anyone this season, his team would look very different.

I am very proud of the Vols, and I think the SEC is still better than the Big 10 and still on track to be the 4th best conference in NCAA BB.

Can Illinois join Michigan State and Purdue and Wisconsin as potential tournament teams? I am still laughing at those who said that Penn State was pretty good.

Who was that?

There is no way in hell The Big 10 is the 5th best conference if that is what you are hinting at? I hate Illinois, but they finally have some players to work with, and they are about the 4-5 best team in the conference. Big 10 could be the best, 2nd, or 3rd best conference right now. SEC is tough, and rising fast, but not better than Big 10 by any means. IMO Big East/BigTen/ACC/SEC/Big12.

I'm a top to bottom guy. No way teams like Colorado/Nebraska/Texas A&M beat teams like South Carolina/Arkansas/Auburn. Outside of the top 4 teams in the big 12, I'd take pretty much any sec team.

If you were a top to bottom guy, you would probably know that TAMU has a pretty quality squad this year. Not trying to be a jerk, that's just a bad example.

Texas A&M would annihilate South Carolina, Arkansas, or Auburn.

Colorado beat Baylor. I'm pretty sure they can handle South Carolina and Auburn. Nebraska beat USC.

You can play the "so and so beat so and so" but if you honestly think the bottom of the big 12 could legitimately match up against the bottom of the SEC. I have seen Nebraska play, and they look like a state championship rhode island basketball team. SEC runs, and distributes and I find it hard to believe a very low-tempo team could compete. Just my opinion though, that is all anyone can provide until a matchup.

The rest of this thread is just BS gibberish IMO. Sorry

I'd still take the Kansas game. Number 1 and our first meaningful game after the ugly incident that decimated our roster.

Beating Kansas is a far, far better win than beating Ole Miss.

Shooting 48% from the field is not exactly "shooting the lights out." Tennessee controlled that game for about 34 minutes. You make it sound as if it were a fluke. It wasn't. Last Sunday, Tennessee was better than the Jayhawks.

I understand your point MHF, but beating the #1 team looks great nationally, and it set a tone for the rest of the season

I know that this is probably just the second best win. Lost though in the percentage against kansas is the awesome 3 point percentage.

In both games we left like an extra 10 points from free throw shooting

Does anyone have any explanation why South Carolina has been struggling so much? Haven't had a chance to watch them yet, but they seemed to be a tough team to beat last year and I thought they had everyone coming back.

Can anyone educate me?

Well, they weren't very good to begin with, and they really miss Archie.

Imagine if Wayne Chism and Tyler Smith both went down with injuries. That is what happened to them before they started losing. They lack a post presence now, except for their Kenny Hall and it is not enough.

South Carolina is Devan Downey and that is about it.

Evan Turner could turn into the story of CBB this year if he can keep playing at this level post broken back.

I do not believe in NW even though they got a big win last night in Evanston against Purdue. I think they are about to get beaten up badly.

Top to bottom I would take the SEC matching up against the Big 10 right now and I would be happy with the outcome.

I take this to mean you have finally gotten over the ridiculous notion that a fan of an SEC team should cheer for other SEC teams?

I also don't understand how you can harp on Florida and Vanderbilt and then say you "don't believe in" Northwestern. Northwestern has as many quality wins as both of those teams, but doesn't have a bad loss.
