Best WR tandem in SEC...

Legends? Didnt see anyone say anything about them being legends.

I guess in your opinion its not ok to acknowledge skill level until theyve done it in the SEC. You might want to correct the author of the article too since he has Auburn as the #1 WR duo in the SEC because they have a JUCO transfer coming in. Whats he thinkin??????

And they are already doing this with the Alabama quarterback(s) ... already "best in SEC." But that could not possibly apply to our receivers. We are only Tennessee.

Sorry, I meant to say, TENNESSEE. :neener::the_finger::loco::rock::pepper::machgun:

To get good QB play, the new O-Line must not only be new, but improved as well. As highly touted as last year's line was suppose to be, they had too many breakdowns with the system.

If hard work pays off, then Worley and Dobbs should be superstars if properly protected by the line. Both may have had issues last year, but that had nothing to do with their work ethic. Would love to see them have a break out year. But if they aren't protected, it's a mute point.

i dont think the First team O Line is as bad as some are making. i know one thing this O Line will run block as well. theres 3 guys on that O Line that had they been somewhere else last yr would have been playing. the Tackles will get there. its not the first team its the depth thats concerning. Outside of Wiesman and maybe Gilliam we have nothing. i think this group actually has some real tough guys on on it. most of the other guys had a soft mentality last yr to be such big guys. we had 3 guys over 315lbs and couldnt ever get a short yardage play it seemed like for most of their careers.

I know I'm saying what everyone already knows but I hope that QB's and receivers work extensively on quick hitches and bubble screens this fall. IF we can just get it in theirs hands these guys will break some long ones and our QB's will have some impressive numbers.

I'm sick of the screen passes to Pig. How many times did it get blown up last year?

No. Only if they haven't done it at UT in the SEC. Everyone else's JUCO's and Fr are going to play like all pros. Didn't you know that UT is the only team in the SEC that will depend on youth or new players this fall?:whistling:

Some of these guys are downright funny at times. Talented Fr make impact all over the SEC and NCAA... only at UT where they are supposedly coached by the best staff in CFB does it take them 3 or 4 years before they're expected to approach potential.

If Jones is a good coach... and I think he is... then he'll get results out of this VERY talented group AND out of his QB's.

I dont think most people question that some Juco's and freshman can make an impact even at UT but consistancy is what will be lacking and is also what is lacking at other schools. The difference is were not good enough across the board yet to hide their mistakes like some teams can.

I agree totally. If Worley, Dobbs, or Peterman can get the ball to them we will have one of the most dangerous WRs corps not just in the SEC but in all of CFB.

I feel like we've been saying this for the past 4 years almost, and being right pretty much the entire time, it just hasn't translated to wins.

QB play and O line play will be the key. And I agree with eastsidevol Pig needs to get more respect for how he played last year. We have the playmakers now just gotta get em the ball

The big IF word, but if one of our QBs can get them the ball we will have one of the best in the country not just the SEC, but that's a big IF, by the way anybody think either Worley or Dobbs will be the real deal or we in trouble.

With all the crap Worley has endured, I think he goes out with a bang his Senior season. I see Dobbs only coming in during garbage time this year and then being successful in '15, considering from reports that he's improved tremendously. Gets me excited about Dobbs in '15 because the kid seems to have all the tools of being a smart QB.

I think our QB play will be just fine. The vast majority of Worley's struggles were due to wrong (and poorly run) routes by young receivers. In addition, the TE's weren't athletic enough, getting into their routes, to create voids in coverage. (TE's who can actually "threaten" a safety, create "air" for the guys on the edge...)

There will be "air" in defenses, this season, for Marquez and his cohorts to run to... which means Worley and HIS cohorts won't be trying to fit the ball into a crowd in order to make a play. (As was the case, last season.)

Safeties will have to "pick their poison," knowing that LB's can't contain the TE's without help.

Worley will look like a completely different guy, this year.
I want to believe this. I have caught myself thinking this...(then lose sight/we suck)......Im anxious to see them play this out on the field and hope you are dead on.

Don't leave Pig out. People think Pearson would start over Pig but if things were different this past spring then I have no doubt Pig would start over Pearson. Don't get me wrong, Von would definitely get his fair share of snaps.

So true. Pig is a proven commodity who has experience getting open against SEC defenses. Pearson may turn out to be the better of the two but Pig will probably be the starter early in the year. Either way we will have quality depth at the slot.

My best receiving group: Pickens, Harper, Morgan, Reeves of the 1990 team.

I sincerely envy the depth Tennessee has at QB. I'm keeping an eye on Josh Dobbs.. dude is a real football player and also has a nice arm.

Same here. I think the Vols will be fine, offensively. The real key, for this team, to have a successful season, will be the development of the young players on defense.

There will be more athleticism on the field, defensively, but this unit will struggle early and jell later in the season. The Vols will have to win some shootouts, early.

Where the fans will see a big difference, from last season to next, will be a defense that becomes stingier (as opposed to falling apart) as the season progresses.

I predict a 3-5 start, then close the season with 4 straight wins.

After that, a Liberty Bowl berth. Win that one, the Vols are 8-4, winners of 5 straight, and Rocky Top will feel like home, again.

It's way past time for the breaks to start falling our way. We will get some breaks in 2014... or there is no goodness left in the world. :)

gotta get some running game to go with a passing game. We can be one dimensional

Yes, I think we could have a balanced offense: passing, running, QB threat to run as well. Even some double tight ends, who can either block or have decent hands to catch it.

Five have no experience getting loose from lockdown sec db's, let alone knowing where to be. Some of you act like sec football is two hand touch, beach football.:eek:lol::eek:lol:

Might not have much trouble from our DBs, if we can field any. But your point is very valid. Plus, you can have the best receivers in the world (not sure that's the case) but receivers are only as good as the QB and O-line give them the ability to be. Then they have to have your afore-mentioned skills. Not as easy as some think.

I'll go with the 3-5. But I don't see UT beating USCe. It would be a major upset and Spurrier's going to be edgy after last season.

One key to a better record will be the health of the offensive line. We will be paper thin in that area. Hopefully some of the freshmen will come in and provide some depth but I would hate to throw them in the starting rotation early in the season.

We're going to be better than most people anticipate. Young, yes, more talented though, yes, and I think it will translate into a 1 or 2 better regular season, and will become more apparent next year. You guys that are worrying yourselves grey this early need to relax. It's June lol.
