I like to see a Vols game in Neyland when I can, but it's great to root for them at an away game if you get the chance. Most fans of other teams are cool. There are not so great places, but overall, I enjoy rooting for them in opposing stadiums. Makes the win so sweet. Hearing Rocky Top in another stadium always makes me sing louder.

Away wins are incredible. The final play Dobbs Nail Boot in Athens is my greatest sports memory. Leaving Sanford Stadium, I was hugging every person I saw in Orange. We sang ”It’s great to be a Tennessee Vol“ all the way to our cars.

I can only imagine that atmosphere in Athens. I attended the 5 overtime win versus Alabama in Tuscaloosa; that was a "Big Orange Scene" as well after the game.

I was blessed to attend the 41-14 victory over the Gumps in Tuscaloosa, breaking the streak and getting to hear and see Peyton leading Rocky Top after the game in their own stadium. And by the way Legion Field is trashy.

This year I broke a personal losing streak - Vols had lost the last six games I attended in person - most of those to FL. This year I was at Neyland when we beat the Gators and I will be in Gainesville this year to see us break our losing streak in the Swamp. That place is the absolute worst place to visit, especially for Vols fans, but this year we're going to leave them drowning in their own tears...can't wait!

I attended the '97 game in Birmingham. You're right, Legion Field and all the area around the stadium was very suspect.

Last year was the best yr for me as a season ticket holder.

Florida - last time I saw TN beat FL in person was in 1992. I was a jr @ UT

Bama- we broke the streak. I had tears in my eyes after the game and my section stood the entire game. It was a game of emotions and I was exhausted after the game.

My wife doesn’t go to the games due to MS symptoms. It’s just too difficult to maneuver in crowds. However, our son is a sophomore at UT and he and his buddies met me on the strip after the Bama game. It was an awesome bonding experience and a bit ironic as his first ever live TN game was TN over Bama in 2006. He was only three yrs old and who would’ve believed it would be another 16 yrs before TN would best Bama. I will never forget that night as it was best game I’ve ever seen live or on tv. It was the loudest I’ve seen Neyland and I’ve been to many games since 1992.

I had a blast the two times in Athens when Manning torched the UGA secondary. UGA fans though for sure they would beat TN and Manning dismantled them.

I’ve never been to the Swamp. I thought about it but I’ve heard horror stories from the 90’s to the present. The urinating in cups isn’t a myth as many if my fraternity brothers witnessed it.

That was a wild game. What year was that? Talking about a game of emotions.

Me and my cousin parked in this guys backyard. And walked to the stadium. Which was pretty much just across the street.

We were at Legion Field too, parked in a back yard. People were friendly. Vehicle was untouched. Fast forward 2 years to Gainesville- most miserable people I have ever seen. cars damaged, cups of urine dispatched at us from all directions. I always pull for their opponent. Their fans are absolutely the worst, bar none (never been to Baton Rouge).

Not a myth, it was a madhouse in the 90's, early 2000's

My first true away game was last year at SC. Still have PTSD every time I hear Sandstorm. Or that awful rooster crow.

I’ve seen the Vols play in all 14 SEC stadiums and the trip last year to LSU was one of the best. We took over the game and stadium early and it was a party all weekend as it was the first time we got a glimpse of what the Heupel era could bring imo.

That was my very first away UT game, and what a game it was. You are right about taking over the stadium. At the end of the game almost all of the LSU fans were gone, and hearing the Pride playing Rocky Top in their stadium to a surprisingly large Vol crowd was sweet music indeed. One of my favorite memories of my daughter's senior season in the Pride.

'03 I believe. I was the only orange shirt in a sea of crimson in the section I sat in (I attended the game with a Bama buddy who had season tickets). When they the ball and had it 2nd and short around midfield with just a couple minutes remaining, I got all kinds of back slaps and condolences from the Gumps telling me "good game, " "travel safe," etc. Man, were they pissed, especially after the 4th and 19 play.
