I think we go into Columbus and hand the Buckeyes their 2nd straight loss, probably get their coach canned in the process since he has lost 4 straight to rival Michigan, and his Offensive Coordinator was hired to stand behind Day with his dagger out from the start like Brutus...
I must have missed this - when did OSU add Fullmer to the staff? 😀

No way in Hades that team that lost to 21point dog Michigan at home 3 days ago BEATS us by 9 points.View attachment 702872
Spread is about right and perhaps a bit conservative. I'm guessing it's gonna be cold and it's a road game. Neither bodes well for the Vols. Pretty hard to feel good about this one.

Sounds like an Ohio State fan to me. It’s cold. Southern teams can’t play in the cold up here in the north. But yet it was 23 in Columbus last night, and 25 in Knoxville. Florida had a freeze warning last night. So, we are going to lose, because it’s cold in Columbus? Heck Ryan Day blamed the missed field goal because it was windy? I’ve heard OState fans say they lost, because of sunny, snow, cold and sunshine. Now, they lost because it was windy. Ok! 😂

I think that way too on a 9 point spread but when was the last time OSU lost back to back at Home. As a random football fan most ppl look at the name/logo/trademark and go with that. It takes years of losing and 500 mediocre records before fans don't give certain teams an auto upper hand. For example, it used to be like that at Nebraska, they were feared I remember when they fired their HC because they just won 9 games for the first time in forever. Then they started being mediocre and in a decade span, now they are just another team, the name scares no one. UT will have to keep 10 & 11 win seasons for at least 5 more years before they get that auto respect they had in the 90's.

That’s about the same spread the oddsmakers gave Georgia over Georgia Tech (19.5)…rivalry games don’t always follow the betting lines. Playing at OSU will be a huge challenge but one our guys can win if we play our A game in all phases of the game. The OSU defense leads the nation in points allowed and total yards allowed but we’re pretty close in both categories (#5 in both). I think the lesson learned from the Michigan game (and our slow start against Vandy and others) is that the more physical team will win. We need to come out strong on both sides of the ball.

Their offense is very limited. They will not be able to run the ball and we will. Game would be a blow out.
Disagree. They are as talented as anyone, plus the cold weather will NOT help us. Just like we struggle with Fla no matter the record, the same goes for Ohio St vs Michigan. This is not a favorable matchup for us, not at Ohio St. If it was in Knoxville, absolutely. I think you forget our struggles on the road. We couldn't even beat sorry ass Arkansas at their little stadium. Let's hope GA and Penn St gets blown out.

Sounds like one of our dumbass fans that forgets how bad we play on the rd.i hate Ohio St, but don't get it twisted. They have 21 million in NIL talent on that roster. They don't always play like it, but that's not a good matchup. Just like you fools thought we would win at GA.

We killed a LSU team on the road, that went on to win the SEC west. It's just getting off to a good start and keeping the gas pedal pushed. It will probably be a defensive battle their offense is not elite , their defense is.

They are talented, but haven't faced a defense like ours. Michigan beat them by shutting down Judkins and outrushing them. I think that plays into our strengths a little as well. Also, with the exception of Oregon and Penn State, their schedule was softer than puppy poo.

Their biggest advantage is that we don't play well on the road; however, Nico is playing with much more confidence as of late.

They would be out for blood after just getting embarassed on their home field by Michigan. And Day coaching for his job. Think when UT went to Athens against a desperate UGA team. This would be an awful matchup at their place. Would much rather play Penn State.
Me too, this team does not play well on the road and by the time this takes place on the 20th it’s probably going to be a lot of snow also. So us playing on the road in the snow I don’t feel well about. I love Sampson, but he puts the ball on the ground and just imagine in the snow with a cold wet ball what might end up happening. I feel this is a 10-12 pt loss and only chance we have at a win is if we bring A game and OSU plays like they did against Michigan and not how they played against Oregon or Ped State. Play like we did against Arkansas and they run us out of the horseshoe.

A lot of cringy “What other boards are saying” material here. If this winds up being our matchup then it is what it is. We earned a lower seed by not getting it done on the field yet we still have the opportunity to play and move on.

I simply don’t see why some of us are so freaked out. OSU is a very good team. Tenn. is possibly a very good team if we play a complete game. Excited to find out what we can do!
