to be honest, I dont like Biddle at all, but I agree with his statement. The Zooker was a great recruiter, but his coaching got him fired. I just see Phil headed in the same direction. I will give Phil props, he pulled in a awesome class. The problem is that so did everybody else in the SEC, so what now. Well talent being equal we look to who coaches them up the best. Is there anyone here that thinks Phil is the best in the SEC at developing talent?
Do you think Fulmer is sitting around saying "damn, we recruited a great class, but so did everyone else. We're screwed!" That would be the only way this can be considered a problem....
thank you for prooving my point. With that much NFL talent, why are we not consistently competing for championships? It's because Phil can recruit, but he cant coach.
Here we go again with the Rex vs someone else:
Rex - Nah Uhh.
Other - Yea
Rex - Nah Uhh.
Other - Yea

Do yourself a favor and skip it. Move on.
Umm, no. Your point, using your words was that all the teams in the SEC have equal talent entering. Yet UT develops the talent to lead the SEC in putting players in the next level. You can't have it both ways.
It takes a lot of luck to win championships. RS slowly killed our offense. We took a big step last year in improving the offense. I suspect the ney sayers will be humbled this fall.
if UT develops all this talent, why does that not translate into championships or at least playing for championships? What you're saying is that it's luck? Please. Pete Carroll must be a pretty lucky guy. All that talent development equaled a losing season a year ago. I guess that was just bad luck.
In the SEC luck has a lot to do with it. In the 90's the ball bounced UT's way alot. It hasn't recently - combined with the fact the RS had no business being our OC.
All Petey Carroll has to do is show up and win 10 games a year in that pathetic excuse for a football conference.
Your point is that UT does not develop players. That is completely false due to the fact that we are second in the number of players in the NFL. It's really simple to prove my point.
Don't even bring USC in this. Its like comparing apples to oranges.
Just look at recruiting the past 6 years
SEC has been in the top 10 something like 23 times to the Pac 10's 5. numbers may not be exact but are very close.
for the most part the NFL drafts on talent and upside, just like every pro sport. All these players in the NFL just proves that Tennessee has had many players with ability, but our coaches have done very little with them. Of course some luck is involved along the way, but luck is not the dominant factor in a team that consistently competes for a championship.
