Big Brother 16

Jocasta...was a waste. What exactly is fake praying anyway? He didn't mean it when he prayed?

I like the 4 checks comment above. That's solid.

Joey...did she win some Miss Big Brother pageant during her summer? WTF was she wearing last night?

If she approaches him and says "pray with me" and he obliges, but doesn't believe in it, can she be mad at him? She probably would have considered it rude if he said no. I pray with my family out of respect for their beliefs and in an effort to not upset them. Call it "fake praying" if you want, but it's the nice thing to do.

That's how I view those types of things, as well. He played along and obviously wishes the best for people. What's the difference?

I hate how Jocasta tried to use her religion as a tool. In the beginning, she talked about praying to win and God "leading her to glory" as if God wold divinely intervene and hand her the $500,000.00 check. It was like she was challenging God. I'm no religious expert, but it felt wrong, and it didn't seem like something a church leader should be doing. I pretty much thought she was a hypocrite from Day 1 in the house. It all felt like an act.

Last night pretty much confirmed it for me. She acted out of spite. She had no idea what was in Derrick's heart. She had no idea if he was sincere or not. She decided he wasn't, and took action, even though the appropriate action would have been to "turn the other cheek". Everything about her actions represents and reenforces negative Christian stereotypes.

People are religious for a lot of different reasons, but some people (like Jocasta) do it in large part due to their egos. She gets off on feeling so important that God chooses her to do whatever it is that she does. "Donnie took me off the block? Nope. It's bigger than that. God did it. He has a plan for me, and the plan is I get evicted a few weeks from now."

Good explanation Weez

Forgot to mention...one thing that made me laugh on the finale night was Caleb at some point threw out a "Heard dat!" That whole conversation earlier in the house was some funny stuff.

Wonder if he ever worked things out with his daughter?
