All Stars has been done. I'm in the camp that they don't ever bring back former guests as players. America must be chock full of duds that they can't have a new cast every year.
I think it has more to do with the fact that past players have established appeal. Kind of like how Hollywood rarely does a movie that wasn't already successful as a book, historical event, play, or comic. It's not that there isn't good undiscovered content, it's that they don't want to take a risk on the unknown.

I agree that I prefer new players onl. All stars have only been done once in season 7, but if they are going to bring back past players just do all stars. I really don't care for a mix between both.
