Wasn't a problem when he ran Driskell down last year. The guys BMI is in the low-mid 20s last year irrc.
BMI for athletes is a joke. I'm 5ft8 190 and mines like 28-29? I'm a fatass right? I bench 325 squat 435 and run 8min mile at around 12% bf. And McCullers is in the low 20s?
BMI *****ing aside, I think our D would benefit greatly if big Dan could drop down to the 325-330 range.

No disrespect to DW, but this one is mo' bigger.
Uh....unless you didn't notice---"Big Dan" Williams was drafted in the 1st round....so, yes, only one "Big Dan" so far...
Fulmer and Chavis always said that Big John had to learn to play lower and use leverage to be elite. It seems that the coaches are hammering this home to McCullers--I expect him to be a disruptive force this fall. GO VOLS! :salute:

Have to disagree with you on doubting his quickness. The have already stated that he's quick for someone his size. Plus he's lost wait which makes him even faster. Hell he ran down the Gators QB and Dan near broke his neck. If he does everything he's taught he can leave the one of the greatest lineman we've had. That's the word anyway.Warren Sapp was not nearly as tall and was very quick for a DT--that's what made him great. Big Dan will never be quick. This guy, if he gets halfway fit, could be a major asset against teams that like to run the ball. But the game is played on the edges a lot more these days, and that makes it harder for a huge NT to be effective.
Big John Henderson was also 6'8", but I don't think he was as heavy as McCullers and he was one of the strongest players in college (and then pro) football. Henderson would take the center and just drive him back into the face of the QB on passing downs. I doubt Dan will be anywhere near as good as Henderson but if he reaches 65-70 percent of his level he will help.
