Big dance chance?

Stokes play is going to make everyone on the team better and more confident. This team will be tough by the time the SEC tourney comes around.

Saying the only way to make the NCAA tournament is to win the sec tournament, that is false.

I didn't say it was the only way. He said is there a chance and I responded that unless we win out no. I never mentioned the SEC tourney. We are not winning out and we are not going 9-2. Stop drinking koolaid.

I don't know enough about basketball:

Do we have a chance to make it to March Madness?

SAIP. Looked for a few mons on my phone. Thanks

Generally, a team needs 18 wins to be "on the bubble"
Of course, if your 18 wins consist of a few top 25 program wins, then you may get in the NCAA. However; if your 18 wins are against no teams that are ranked, then you are likely to not get invited to the NCAA.
If a team has 20 wins, then it highly likely that they will get invited to the NCAA.
At this point, we have 9 wins and need at least 9 more wins to reach the 18 win, bubble team status.
We play 12 more regular season games and at least one S.E.C. tourney game. So, based on those numbers, we will need to win all but 4 of our remaining games in order to just be a bubble team.
If/when we win 18 wins, I am sure that we will get in the NCAA because of our victories over #13 Florida and #11 UConn.
At this point, we have little margin for error.
Had we won the close games, that we lost this season, we would have definately been in better shape than we are in now. UGA, Memphis,Miss State, Austin Peay,Duke,
Charleston, and Kentucky. Had those close games, being victories, we would now have 16 victories, to include, 5 against top 25 programs, Florida, UConn, Duke, Memphis and Kentucky.
We will win our share of games the rest of the way,but I am not sure if we can reach 18 wins.

Winning out would infer winning every game left which the sec tourney is left but ok. Once again, the only way to get in isn't winning every remaining game on our schedule idiot. I'm sure you also said we aren't beating Uconn didnt you, I seem to remember quite a few feeling that way. Or how about Florida did you predict that one too?

That's utter silliness. Saying we have to win at rupp to make the tourney is just insane. We are currently 2-3 in sec and 9-10 overall. If we go 9-2 losses to uk and Florida away that puts us at 11-5 in conference and 18-12 overall. I think a first round sec t loss and were still in. I fully expect the committee to take stokes into consideration when evaluating us.

I agree. The commitee usually looks at how much a team progresses toward the end of the season since most teams have a soft pre conference schedule. Stokes is getting us a lot of good press, so if we take off from here we can make it. GBO

Actually I apologize we are 1-3 in sec 9-10 overall with 12 sec games left. We would need to go 9-3 in sec play to be in most likely. Can you tell me 3 guaranteed losse on our schedule that you see since you are positive this is not possible?

Nope, I predicted we would beat Florida and UCONN. This team plays up against top teams at home. We are also a polar opposite team to lesser teams.

I am not the internet tough guy that results to name calling on here. I will put my education level and intelligence up against yours any day.

At Vandy, Kentucky, Florida and Bama at a minimum. That satisfy you?

Exactly. I'm not saying its gonna happen and I'm not saying its likely, in fact if I had to put a percent id say it's a 15-20% chance we do what is necessary to make it, but for those saying we have to win every game or saying its impossible that's just dumb.

I guess these types of posts are bound to POP up every time we best a team over .500, but I strongly urge anyone who is booking their NCAA tickets to temper their enthusiasm and remember the team that showed at Georgia three days ago.

I hope and believe that this team will improve as Stokes improves and is integrated into more of the offense. However, for this team, the damage may have already been done, and I don't know that the adjustment curve will be sharp enough for this team to finish with a strong enough record to make it based on our body of work.

That said, I believe, our only realistic shot would be to win the SEC tourney. I hope today was the start of a grand turnaround, just like I hoped the Florida game was, but I fear this team is too inexperienced and bi-polar to win enough games on the road.

They let some teams in sometime that are absolutely head scratchers and sometimes they keep teams out where you were sure they would be in.

Here are my two cents:

We need 18-20 wins to even be considered, on the bubble as it were.

We need a few more marquee victories. Beating Vandy, UK, Florida, Bama, Ark would all be quality wins.

The committee always review the type of team you are RIGHT NOW, so they will look at how we perform WITH Stokes and that should help alleviate some of the bad resume' blemishes we had before SEC play.

We have to make a run in the SEC tournament, look good doing it and finish strong. We don't have to win the whole thing, but if we can steal a quality win or 2 that would be enough combine with the above factors

You don't see us capable of winning at vandy or a Florida team who you felt confident enough in to say we'd beat at home. And bama is not a good team at their place makes it a bit more difficult but we should win. If your so confident can we place a wager on this 4 teamer locks of yours?

@UK, @Vandy, @Florida. I have just not seen this team play well enough on the road to believe they cam win any of those games, two of which will be serving up some home-cooking from the zebras.

Exactly cause you never said it. It's easy to post nothing and says oh I said they'd win show me where i they wouldn't. You said you predicted both wins lets see it.

So if I didn't post my predictions on VN then I didn't predict them. LOL, you are pathetic. Again, how old are you?
