"BIG" snowstorm possibly heading this way

I was just mainly confused where the warnings of a big snowstorm were coming from....because I didn't get that out of this forecast...but I've heard other people talking about it as well...just a bit confused.

You are exactly correct, I should have known better than to look to the knoxville news sentinel for up to date news - seriously.

Now if this snow was only expected to make a light dusting I'm sure they would be updating the site every few minutes with the latest news and forecast, and treating it as the end of the world. They seem totally oblivious that this could be a serious storm...what was it, only a 30 or 40% chance of snow they had listed? If it tracks right (or wrong depending if you hate snow), then we could be in the 10+ inch range for snow. Or maybe not much at all, just depends on the tracking of it.

This should produce some great entertainment in that at some point the legend of coach o will grow out of this.I can see it now now coach o hikes thru a 10 ft drift swims an almost frozen river, then signs at least 5 5 star prospects .Would love to be with coach o if this weather does hit .No telling what stories might come out of this. The legend is sure to grow.

Its funny no one actually answered the question asked in the thread because everyone is excited about the possibility of snow. I dont live in Knox anymore, but I remember from my days at UT that snow was always in the forecast but never came. Its never a good idea to attend party's that anticipate classes being canceled the next day.

Either way, back to the question... Can coaches make last minute visits to recruits before NSD or is there a dead period in the 24 hrs preceding it? I hope that was what you intended as your original question, I'm curious too.

A weather thread.

But good question actually, just shouldn't be this long.

I'm pretty sure I read that recruiting goes into a dead period starting Monday, not sure when it ends though. I don't know if it ends after NSD or goes through the week. Either way this weekend is pretty much do or die for swaying recruits before most of the them sign on the dotted line.

Never check the forecast. I wear the same thing everyday, regardless.

Assuming this site is accurate, Feb 4 is during a dead period.

2008-2009 NCAA Football Recruiting Calendar

Not sure the definition of a Quiet period... "Hey Mom, no beans between Feb 6 and April 14.

I'm sure they could have McGee Tyson open in short order. A week or two ago, we got 4-6 inches of snow in Raleigh and RDU was open. And we have Two Men and a Shovel to clear all roadways here.
