... and expand the CWS to 10 teams that include 2 automatic qualifiers from the northern region. Also, he wants to start the season in mid March/April which would push the CWS into late July and may support a proposition where northern schools would secede and form their own northern CWS. Thoughts?

Sour Grapes!!! Youth baseball in the North is very strong, when they travel to the south for Super NIT's and big events they always show well. You can start the season whenever you want but the buttom line is good players in the north want to play in the south. And the great player go to the pro's.

The CWS is already more than a month after most colleges let out for the summer. If the northern schools want to be able to compete with the south in baseball, they should either play indoors or play the entire first half of the season on the road in the south. You don't hear the SEC petitioning to start football season a month (or more) later because 'it's too hot' in the south in August/September.

When the Big T(12?)en named its football divisions Leaders and Legends their commish gave up his ability to be taken seriously by the rest of the country.

It's not broke, and doesn't need fixing. Jealous of the souths superiority in most sports I see.

I do not see how moving the start of the season back really helps them all that much. A lot of the Big 10 programs, at least the ones still on the quarter system, spend the majority of Jan. and some of Feb. training in warm weather climates. Moving the season back a month will not make better talent want to go there.

Notre Dame has had some success in the past. Nebraska is a cold weather school and has had success. A program like Ohio St should be able to field a solid team if they give a crap what so ever.

If they want to piss and moan about the RPI, maybe he should make the Big 10 schools play good Southern teams in OOC games.

I already hated Delaney for his stance on the BCS and Rose Bowl. Then, he came up with those ego-filling names for the Big Ten's divisions, and now he wants to overhaul the CWS just to benefit his league.

I have come to the conclusion that I hate everything Jim Delaney stands for in sports. The NCAA, its member institutions, and college sports fans nationwide would all be better off if this guy resigned.
