Big Ten eyed Vandy, among others

I think Vandy would actually be a pretty good fit in the Big Ten. Easier time going to a bowl game consistently. Revenue stream the same or even slightly higher.

Considering they'd most likely be put in the East with Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State (later, not now)...not sure it'd be too easier on them (over time)

Why would Vandy do that?

The only thing they having going for them is, "We play in the SEC."

No school will be leaving the SEC because in a few years each team will be getting a huge jump in revenue sharing (about $10-14 million MORE per school then they already get).
because of a pending re-configuration of the SEC's television arrangements and a major increase in postseason football payouts that will occur when the Bowl Championship Series is replaced by a four-team playoff in the 2014-15 season, SEC revenue is about to escalate dramatically.

SEC revenue set to jump 50% with playoff, new TV deals

Vandy is pretty good at losing to SEC teams- they'd fit right in.

Not sure why this doesn't have more likes.

Fortunately, the Big10 already has their own Vandy. They go by Northwestern, and their school color is purple.

The SEC would never let Vandy leave unless backdoor deals were reached to bring Notre Dame in as all inter-conference communications are protected from the Freedom of Information Act when a private university is involved. If Vandy were to leave or be forced out of the SEC the only other viable options would be Tulsa, Rice, Tulane or SMU.

SEC is the only conference without an exit fee. Vandy brags about how smart they are. They ain't going anywhere.

Our conference GPA would drop but our all-time bowl wins would rise drastically even if we replaced them with somebody like Toledo.

LOL. I love how you see the ACC making it nearly impossible for schools to leave and the SEC saying "leave whenever you want but we know you can't be that dumb".

If Candyland wants to kick rocks, so be it. :D

Question is would we keep Vandy as a yearly OOC rival...I say we would tell them to piss off.
