This match matters. Win and we hold our second place slot in the SEC, lose and Mizzou jumps us from third. It's that tight at the top of the SEC. Oddly enough, should Mizzou win they would likely move ahead of us in the NCAA rankings as, like the SEC, they are one spot behind us at #23. Not often you see this situation, I imagine.

Also, Mizzou hasn't lost a match at home this season, they're 10 & 0. Just to make this as big of a challenge as possible, we may also be handicapped by the absence of Coach Rackham who I don't expect (I'm guessing here) to make the trip to Columbia. She seems to be the source of much of the confidence the girls carry into tough matches and if she isn't able to be there it will, in my opinion, make a difference. Make no mistake, this match will be a hard hill to climb.

As of today, (11/12), our RPI stands at 32. We moved up one spot in the AVCA rankings to #22 with Mizzou moving up behind us to #23.

The match starts at 7:00 pm, with media to be announced soon.

We very much need to win this match!

GO LADY VOLS!!!

Tessa Grubbs named SEC offensive player of the week! This is the second time this season she has been recognized as either Offensive Player or Player of the Week. Currently, she is second in the SEC in kills per set averaging 7.33. On he way to her 22 kills against MSU, Grubbs had a season-high hitting percentage of .571.

So what are you trying to say?

Just kidding!

Reading how you put this match’s implications into perspective is thrilling considering this team was picked a preseason number 10 in the SEC.

Mizzou is tough and proved its strength winning the match against Florida in Gainesville earlier this season. We will have to bring our A-game.

What's going on with Coach Rackham? Hope she's okay!

She is seriously pregnant...I think she is 8 months along maybe close to the D date, in a couple of weeks. I'm guessing her doctors have limited her travel. Other than that she seems okay to me. ;)

Update on TV coverage: We'll be on SECNetwork at 7:00 pm. Lady Vols basketball is on SECN+, also @ 7:00 pm.

I think that says a lot about how important our match is.

Mizzou is in trouble at this point, just as we would have been had we lost...we just need to stay steady and take this match in four sets.
