This match matters. Win and we hold our second place slot in the SEC, lose and Mizzou jumps us from third. It's that tight at the top of the SEC. Oddly enough, should Mizzou win they would likely move ahead of us in the NCAA rankings as, like the SEC, they are one spot behind us at #23. Not often you see this situation, I imagine.
Also, Mizzou hasn't lost a match at home this season, they're 10 & 0. Just to make this as big of a challenge as possible, we may also be handicapped by the absence of Coach Rackham who I don't expect (I'm guessing here) to make the trip to Columbia. She seems to be the source of much of the confidence the girls carry into tough matches and if she isn't able to be there it will, in my opinion, make a difference. Make no mistake, this match will be a hard hill to climb.
As of today, (11/12), our RPI stands at 32. We moved up one spot in the AVCA rankings to #22 with Mizzou moving up behind us to #23.
The match starts at 7:00 pm, with media to be announced soon.
We very much need to win this match!
