Bigger than Memphis- '07?

Given the adversity the Vols had to overcome, I'd have to say this one was bigger.

This one solidified our tourney resume. That one was simply a big win and hollow milestone for a team headed to the tourney regardless.

The Memphis win ruined that squad because they bought the hype. This win will give some confidence to some guys and show that hard work on the D end can win.

Much more will come from this win.

Huge win on national TV! It is a game like this that makes me wish we had John Ward doing the games. Well, "MONEY" was going great guns and considering all this team has been through it was an impressive effort. If they continue to improve and keep playing defense good things will happen. Go Vols!

If we're talking "big" in terms of garnering national recognition for the program, the Memphis win was clearly bigger. I don't know how you can argue otherwise.

By the looks of the thread people get caught up in the moment.

This was a great game - very well played with the exception of missing the FTs. This game has the potential to be bigger than the Memphis win...but right now I put them at about the same level. If the players take this as a sign of what a *team* can accomplish, then this win is much bigger. It is going to be hard for these guys to keep their legs...but hopefully they gel and have success in the SEC.

Kentucky fans are saying that this is our 66th biggest win. The top 65 are our wins against the wildcats. They never cease to amaze me.

No, although our win over them in '66 is well up the list. Today was the biggest win UT basketball ever had, because of the circumstances of it. The Tiger High win got more publicity because it was a 1-2 matchup, but this one is going to mean more in the long run. There were a lot of people writing this team off after the suspensions; we even dropped in the polls without losing a game. These guys just sent a message that Tennessee basketball isn't going anywhere.

Now...later this season, when we knock off (hopefully) No. 1 ranked Kenturkey, that will be our biggest victory ever. :D
