". The defending national champions do have at least one tough matchup on their hands, though, as they travel to Tennessee for a game that may very well decide the winner of the SEC East."

Man, how long has it been since that has been said about our Vols going against a defending NC? Makes me happy reading that. And remember, Any team is beatable on any given Saturday. Let's hope they lose with more class than the gumps did last year. Also, beating GA isn't even worth tearing down the goal posts, because we have greater expectations this year. Win, business as usual, it's what we are coming to expect around here, again, finally.....

It would be extra sweet for them to come in undefeated and end their win streak. Beat Bama and Georgia back to back years at Neyland would be awesome!
It is awesome that once again, playing in Neyland is a factor. During the depths of our woes vis a vis our three big rivals, Neyland wasn’t even a factor. It matters again

I would feel much better about this game if last year’s game had been competitive. They thoroughly dominated us along the line of scrimmage. We’re recruiting well but not sure that we’ve made significant improvements on that front. But that’s why the games are played so I hope I’m surprised.
We have to run the ball versus UGA. I think it’s that simple and that basic. If we can have success running the ball we will be in a much better spot than we’ve been against them in a long time .

Run the damn ball.

And that means our OL needs to be up to the task. They didn't appear to be last year but hopefully it will be different this season. Maybe Milton is more mobile than I think he is too.

I think Milton has to want to be mobile. That first year he seemed like he was afraid of contact. He should be punishing smaller defenders the way Tebow and Cam used to, or even KJ Jefferson does now. I would love to see him invite more contact…to a degree.

We still don’t have the depth and talent to compete with Georgia it’s been a bad matchup for us the last two years. I got us at best 10-2 and at worst 8-4 this season but we aren’t beating Georgia.

A lot of people said the same thing about Alabama last year. This team can win any Saturday if they bring their A game.

Take out the UT-UGA game and there is only one game that I care about. This list was clearly made by a yankee.

Anti-SEC bias is rampant among non-SEC establisment/media/fans. Too much SEC success has soured the rest of the country on cfb and there are ongoing propaganda and regulatory attempts to right the ship.

Yeah, if Heupel succeeds in beating Bama, Florida and Georgia in his first 3 years with the team he inherited he deserves a statute.

In 2021, the Bama game was a one possession game in the 4th quarter if I recall correctly, they just blew us out in the 4th. We hung with them though. Heupel has to figure out Kirby's defense. That is the only team that two years in a row has pretty much shut us down most of the game.
Strong o-line, and old school smash mouth, :blue font:
then the 90 yd play action

Last season, we actually ran more frequently than we passed. I think is was like 53/47 percent or something close. We are statistically a run First Team. The passes just stick in the memory better

You’re right . That is definitely a misconception with our offense . I think what I should say, is that we HAVE to run it effectively to beat UGA. I just looked it up. We had 42 rush attempts for 94 yards last year. That’s not going to get it done. I think we really need to get it going to bring their safeties off of their 2 high coverage and hit them over the top. They’re just really good.
