Biggest Traitor in College Football

No way Lane is the biggest traitor; USC is an all-time Top 5 program and not a rival of Tennessee's.

Lane Kiffin was lucky we gave him another shot. Do you really think Kiffin would have gotten the head coaching job at USC if he hadn't been given the chance to coach at Tennessee? I do not. I think he saw he couldn't hack it at Tennessee and went somewhere else where he could coach against inferior teams and talent.

Should Doug Dickey be on there for leaving UT to go directly to UF? I wasn't born yet, so I know nothing of the move other than that it happened.

Yep. Especially after just playing UF in a bowl game, losing, then bolting for them after the game.

When he got the job as AD there were a whole lotta older supporters that were not very happy about his returning. Traitor was one of the nicer names

Lane Kiffin could have been employed by several other schools as HC. It's not like Tennessee was the only one calling him.

This. And no way Kiffin is #1. I think Urban and Petrino should be on the top of that list.

urban atleast brought 2 titles to UF

spurrier should of made the list imo he frickin left when we had a title contender type team to suck in dc then came back to the sec east

I don't think Lane is really a traitor, seeing as how USCw isn't a rival of ours. While he did leave poorly in the middle of the night, that doesn't classify for being a traitor.

Losing the Gator Bowl to the Gators was bad. How he managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory was even worse. It was really a sour experience. However, he managed to regain some acceptance as AD.

We are better off without Kiffin.

Too bad that Monte didn't stay, but can't blame him for wanting to be near his grandkids.

I hated him, particularly after he got rid of Johnny. But looking back on him, he was a great AD.

Wasn't born when he left for Florida, so cannot really speak to that.

I have no idea why Kiffin is vilified for leaving. Let's say you're a stock broker originally from the Northeast. You get a job in Mobile, AL as a broker with a small firm. Charles Schwab headhunts you up from their NYC office and offers you a job. It's a move to a larger company, better situation and near where you call home. Do you take it? Yes, you do.
