Biggie or Tupac

Puffy managed Biggie, Craig Mack, and Faith on Bad Boy Records.

Tupac was on Death Row and was in a bitter feud with Bad Boy/Puffy after he blamed them for setting him up to get shot in NYC. That was the whole catalyst for the East/West Coast War.

Tupac didn't have anything to do with Puffy outside of that...

Fail...

Yes, BIG and Tupac were friends before that and Tupac is actually from the east coast and went to HS with Jada Pinkett Smith in Baltimore.

That and Suge Knight liked to throw fuel on the fire to uphold his image.

I have always heard that there "beef" was bogus and put together by both of them to sell records. In a book I have read about Pac, he once told Biggie at an awards show that he was just trying to sell records, and not to believe the hype. If that is true it is freaking ironic how it ended I guess.

Was Tupac getting shot in NYC bogus?

Eminem would eat Tupac for a light snack. Biggie and Eminem in a battle would be pretty good and I can't give a definitive answer on who would win that.

I'm not here claiming that Biggie is the greatest of all time. The thread title was Biggie vs Pac, and that ain't no competition for Biggie.

Which means you hold someone else in the regard as "greatest rapper of all time".

I'm not a big fan of rap but I do like Outkast. So, how do you rank a duo in regards to greatest rappers of all time? I don't like either rapper as much when they're solo but I don't like any solo artist as much as Outkast.

Outkast is right up there with A Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang, and Goodie Mob in terms of best rap groups. All those groups are also better than Biggie or Tupac.

Outkast is one of the better rap groups of all time. Right up there with Geto Boys, Run DMC, and Wu Tang.

I remember reading about that too but I don't think it was about how it the whole thing originally started. There was definitely some serious animosity after the NY studio shooting but after it had been going on for a while I remember hearing about the awards show incident and that it was in direct relation to "hit 'em up". Which, if that's true, takes a lot of balls by Pac to say after you hear the stuff in that song.

No.

Edit: If you are having a discussion about the best rap group, you have to include Bone Thugs IMO.
Also, what did I miss with Outkast? When I was in high school they were really popular with all of the cheerleader type girls and no one else listened to them.

I don't consider it cheerleader music, but that seemed to be the people listening to it. I have never really listened to Outkast, so I don't really know what to consider them. The only songs I have any recollection of is is the shake it song, one about roses, and Ms Jackson.

Then it's funny that you responded to my post with a "no" when you've never even listened to them.

I prefer them because their rhymes are more than simply rhyming one obscenity with another and rap about subjects other than murder and demeaning females.

Someone hasn't listened to OutKast pre-new millennium.

Let's see what I can dig up.........

There's more, but that's just some of what I like to listen to. I'd put more, but for some reason, YouTube is loading slow as hell.

And I'm not an NWA fan but you have to include them way ahead of Bone Thugs as far as groups are concerned.
