i'm pretty sure JS is a pretty good WR....he's made some huge plays for ND and some spectacular catches. what he lacks in speed, he makes up for in grabs. the guy has been clutch the past two seasons for ND. I have no problems with him on this list.

Jarrett though, wasn't he injured for a few games? he's a good WR, but i don't think he's the best in the country.

calvin Johnson is hard to argue with...he's got it all...size, speed, hands....he's good.

Meach is probably deserving of such nomination, but the overall lack of production from the offense the previous two game may have hurt him...though he WAS our offense against LSU. and with Ainge down and the lack of a running game this year, i think it could be argued that he means more to this offense....calvin Johnson is in the same boat. he's done what he's done with an average qb at best. and he's been GT's offense ALL year long.

in the end...it doesn't matter...don't need this award to know that Meach is a fine WR and hopefully he'll be back and we'll get a repeat performance.

With Pollack stats don't tell the whole story. he drew double and triple teams opening up a lot of tackles for othe dlinemen

He was also the beneficiary of some others drawing double teams. He owes much of his draft position to Kedrick Gohlston who played NT.

Wouldn't go quite that far, but rarely have I ever seen a guy get so much mileage out of a single play against South Carolina.

So, he was the UGA version of Wil Overrated.

I'm pretty sure Pollack had a big game every time he played UT. I think he has the all-time SEC sack record. He's definitely better than Overstreet. Unfortunately, he broke his neck and may not be playing football again.

How many sacks did Pollack have against us in 2004 again?

none, i think.

i also recall having the conversation with my buddy on the way back home after the game, that we didn't hear them call his name but maybe once.

In 2004 he had 2 solo tackles and 1 assisted for a loss.. Not exactly what I'd call a big game.

He was in our backfield so frequently in previous years, I must have assumed it happened over more than just 3 games.

I don't know, but I can tell you one sack he really did enjoy...

I'm pretty sure Jason Hall had 2-3 sacks on him his SR year.

Right after he won three straight against us and ruined our chance for a national championship. Unfortunately, we just don't have much room to talk smack about Pollack or Greene.

Nope, but you have been inaccurate twice in this thread. Better quit while you're ahead.

O, and I'm pretty sure that had more to do with Richt than Greene.

Don't mistake exaggerations for inaccuracies. Actually, if not for Richt's idiotic time management, the Bulldogs could have had several more chances to score the winning TD in 2004.
