Bill Paxton Dead at 61

At age 8, his parents took him to Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963 to see JFK's motorcade. There is a photo of him in Dealey Plaza being hoisted over his father's head just moments before the assassination. He discussed this in several interviews.

Very sad to hear of this and shocked. Tombstone is one of my favorite movies. Frailty, Apollo 13 and Aliens are also really good. The Hatfields and McCoys was also a great mini-series. Wow.

One of my favorite actors! He was great in movies like Twister, True Lies, Tombstone, Aliens, A Simple Plan, the HBO show "Big Love," etc. However to me, he will always be known simply as "Chet" the smart ass big brother in the movie Weird Science LOL!!!

I thought he did a really good job as McCoy. In the history channel's Hatfields and McCoys. Rip Bill Paxton.

not mentioned here. Wouldn't have been my first choice for Sam Houston, but he did very well. Show was called Texas Rising. Was looking forward to another season.

Paxton played a multi faceted Texan, deeply layered. Stoic, confident, hard headed. Not what you'd think about that character.
