I think you could be right. Writing one check for 10+ million is one thing, but having the program knocking on your door for that or more every year would have to get old quick.

Major college football is a multi billion dollar sport. The coaches and the talent that make the sport what it is in terms of a product on the field are going to make, and deserve to make, millions. The hilarious part of course being that it's not even the conferences and universities sharing their copious millions they earn from the sport with the players in most cases, it's some random rich dude or dudette that just so happened to go to or just likes the school.

His dad says he'll make ~$15.0 M over 4 years so if he's only guaranteed $1.5 M per year sounds like there are performance clauses which, as I understand it, is illegal.
