Actually the Tomahawk Chop was not originally a Braves tradition ..they stole the gesture from the Florida State Seminoles....Atlanta starting copying them during the 91 playoff run...but chop on

I read the USA Today version and the Wiki version. One said that the chant started before the chop. I’m pretty sure I do remember the “whoa-oh—ohhhh” thing in the late 80’s, so maybe I’m conflating that with the chop.
