I know we had discussed this awhile back, but I couldn't find anything recent about it.. Has anybody heard anything else about this??? It seems some of the Florida faithful feel it may happen... I think that may be the 2nd reason Carroll is coming to see us, he may think Ganzales is headed to UT also.. the 1st if course is the Kiffin connection to USC..

Now Cut... you know better than to come on here and spread hearsay without posting some sort of source or link. Shame on you :)..Would very interesting though. :question:

It's been speculated that he will stay at Florida now and take over the OC position that has come open

It would make more sense for him to stay at UF with him already being established with Meyer and the program but maybe Kiffin can woo him with that new staff budget. Anyone know by chance what he would make at UF compared to what he could possibly make at UT?

I think there was discussion about this also in the same thread I read, b ut not 100% sure.. Headed to the house, I'll check back in after supper..Let me know if anyone can find anything out about it..

UT can pay Gonzales a lot more money as OC than UF can as receivers coach. Billy G can make around $800-$1 mil at UT---he makes a lot less at uf (maybe $100K).

If Urban doesn't offer the OC job to him, he is gone. Possibly here, if not somewhere else. Most coaches look to move up the ladder, If FL doens't offer the job now, why would they later.:good!:

$800,000-$1,000,000 may be a little high.

Gonzales won't get 500-700K anywhere as an OC. You all are letting these salary numbers get out of hand. If he got that much he would be the top paid OC (top 3 atleast) in the country. If we hired Gonzales it would be for no more than 350K, and that is still a hell of a salary for an OC.

I don't think he'd go just for money. He might go for a lot of money and an OC title, but I doubt he would come here just for WR when he's most likely going to be Florida's OC, and get a look at HC when Urban leaves.

If FL doesn't give him OC, no one else will pay him what we will for that title. I don't think.

I think we will offer more money and OC title with promises of calling plays next season after Kiff installs his offense. He may stay at FL if he is offered OC position only. I think Strong would be favorite to take over HC if Urban goes to Notre Dame so Gonzales has no reason to stay.
