Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency, and the Future of Global Finance

These meme coins (not just Trump coin, but especially Trump coin) are all based on hope. But not the good kind of hope; just hope that later on someone else will be willing to pay you more for it than you spent.

They have no utility. You can't do anything with them. You can't display them. Just a pure ponzi scheme fraud.
Why do you care so much. Don't invest money in them then

I worry that enough people are getting suckered into it that it's going to replace for many people sound, slow, steady investing in REAL things.
Guy who's never posted in this thread suddenly concerned about the dangers of meme coming investing. You act like meme coins are a new phenomenon. If people lose money investing in these things that's their problem.

Just like investing in GameStop with RoaringKitty.

I'm pretty sure I posted abiut this issue a long time ago. Trump having done this to con more fools and make a buck as he takes office just reinforced it at a whole new level.

I hope you express this much concern to your state's elderly and impoverished citizens that dump millions of dollars daily into quickie-mart lottery tickets and cigarettes.

Exactly.

People buying meme coins know exactly what they are doing. It's fun and a gamble for some. I made 250% on some SHIB a couple of years ago.

People throw money away everyday in casinos. All the sudden meme coins a major concern.

If Trump opened a Trump themed casino last week there'd be plenty of eye rolls for that, too.

Face it, the guy is a con man. Just making money off his cult members.

I'm not arguing against or for him launching a coin. Don't really care what people invest in.

He’s already been in the casino business. He’s a capitalist providing something that consumers want. Why do liberals attack businesses. Unless they’re hawking books or Hunter’s “artwork”?

BTW. What’s the prison sentence for causing eye rolls?

There have been thousands of coins already promoted. What specifically about the Trump coin makes it a con?

Trump is a brand. He isn’t writing code to create his coin. He didn’t use the stun guns on cattle in slaughterhouses to create Trump steaks either.

I’d bet that the Trump coin is one of the better ones as far as compliance. Those putting their capital to work are 100% responsible for bidding up the market value of Trump coins and all of the others.

What’s worse? Promoting a business in an environment of capitalism or politicians enriching themselves pretending to be public servants and then pardoning their fellow conspirators just before flying off from actual cons?

People used to have to divest from things in order to become President but now we're so in love with Trump that we're patting him on the back for grifting billions from his followers based on hype
