Bitter Candy??

I would contend that the very best Vanderbilt coaches, other than McGugin, effectively do more with less. However, they also have hired their fair share of really incompetent coaches, which only exacerbates their conundrum. Like the blue-bellied boys to the north, they have to give new coaches a significantly longer leash than most programs, simply to give them the opportunity to maximize the program's limited potential.

Courtesy of fifty years of family history, i.e., having an uncle who was head baseball coach at Commode-Flusher U, I will forever adopt a Cafegoesque posture toward the Black and Gold. May a pox be upon their house for time and all eternity.
OK. Me? I'm just a Vol who is proud of being a Tennessean, even if they wear colors other than orange and white.

When Vandy wins, they stop the rush and rush the ball well. Aside from UK, they have held opponents to under 100 rushing yards in all of their wins. When they allow more than 100 rushing yards, they are 1-3.

So the key to beating Vandy is to run them into the ground and don't turn the ball over.
