maxine waters is a complete idiot, that being said i'm so sick of hearing about all these stupid groups that are for black people only. if there was a white caucus the libs would crap a brick. there comes a time in your life when you can't blame others for how you turned out

....I get your frustration but these groups were created because some people just flat out refused to be civilized when it came to people of color.

It's not exclusion, but ensuring that the thoughts and ideals of African Americans would no longer be marginalized by those in power. Their effectiveness and importance in today's society can certainly be argued, but they were started in opposition to the social climate that prevailed during the civil rights era.

"White people" ( not you, anyone here or alive for that matter) trying to keep everything for themselves is how this mess got started in the first place. ..No?

i completely get your point, it was meant to be a good thing. now its turned into a complete joke. people my age have nothing really to complain about. is there still racism in America? sure there is but its on both sides and its a small amount of people on both sides(for the most part). however the left still uses it as a crutch to get black votes plain and simple. think about it, if it was still such a major issue would Obama have been elected? doubtful.

i'll say this as a perfect example of the govt going over board not to look racist/sexist. i work on a govt project. the percentage of minorities that actually fill the govt side of the project are ridiculous. are they unqualified? not most, but there are some that i feel are. they usually hire contractors to fill those positions as they come available. if you counted both the govt and contractor side by race and then took the percentage of minorities in mgmt positions you would be amazed. at least on my side of the project. the biggest percentage of those jobs held are by women, and its not even close to being 50/50. now if you took the percentage of the women that are of a minority race compared to how many actually work on the project its by far the most lopsided. I'm not saying that they are all from a certain race, because that would be false. however they kill 2 birds with one stone by hiring a female that is from a minority.

It's great to see some "old school" southern values alive and well.

Not.

The Black Caucus is a progressive caucus, one of the bravest and most moral in the US Congress. That they should lose patience with most disappointing first term of any president ever is completely understandable.

Whites represent the dominant culture - are over-represented in every field of American endeavor (with two notable exceptions) and receive the treats of privilege overwhelmingly in their favor. That is why a "white caucus" is ridiculous in this culture.
