Anyone else playing this? Definitely the biggest launch of August.

I'm enjoying it so far. It was somewhat touted as a Souls-like, but is not that at all. Think more God of War style. It's a lot of fun.

Definitely want to get to it eventually. I'm so backlogged right now I can't justify buying anything new until I get caught up. I'm just now starting on Spider-Man 2 and I have both Stellar Blade and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth right behind that.

I wouldn't say it's exceptionally difficult, no. It's similar to God of War in both gameplay style and difficulty

I’m early in the game and then got distracted by others. Some of the early boss fights are pretty tough so the Souls comparison from that standpoint makes sense but that’s about it as far as similarities. Does exploration open up more after that first area? The first area is basically just boss fights. I like more exploration.

Yes it will. Some areas are more linear, some are more open.

One of the late-game areas is wide wide wide open, and you get to fly around it on a cloud. It's a blast.
