Black on the basketball jerseys?

I heard the talk this morning about a possibility that there would be a black basketball jersey that could come out pending fan support. Have you all heard this? If so what do you think? I am sure many prefer to stick to the traditional orange and white but how many would like to see the black?

I, personally, am not fond of the "black jersey" idea. A little outlining for contrast would be OK, but we are the Orange and White, and I'd prefer to keep it that way.

I have always thought that football teams who come out with a new black uni were trying to look tough or intimidating. I'd like to think that we don't need a new jersey to do that.

Its all about $$$$$, However if they had something like the Phoenix Suns grey road uniforms that would be pretty cool!

Personally, I wish they would have a black jersey that they would wear on special occasions. I love black uniforms and while I know it is not one of our colors, its not one of Memphis, Florida, Duke or any of those guys colors either. I understand that argument, but in my opinion, it would look really good and I have been calling for them for a while now...

I agree on the black jerseys, but ONLY if they are used as an alternate and in SOME games, not ALL away games. Much like Memphis and Duke do now and Florida did a couple years back. I love the idea of a black jersey, but would not support it if it meant the loss of the Orange...

i was playing ncaa 2k6 and i was thinking how cool that would look as like an alternate jersey or something. I would only want it as an alternate though because i like the neon orange color of our away bball jerseys

This year, I really liked the black outlines of the names and numbers and "Tennessee." As for a solid black jersey, I think I would have to see it.

i think that would be awesome, Texas had black alternate jerseys when they played Duke this year and it looked cool

Exactly, and I think ours would look really good because our main color, orange, is a "stand-out" color, and even though the jerseys would be black, the orange would really stand out and in my opinion, that is what makes the black jerseys look so nice.

I love the idea. I was hoping for some kind of jersey change in basketball. A jersey we could have for years to come. We're always changing it and it's never set in stone. A black alternate jersey would be sweet.

It would also be cool for the football team for like the first game, homecoming, game close to halloween.

Not a good example. IIRC, Duke beat Texas by 30 in that game.

Personally, I wouldn't mind an alternate uni for special occasions, be it black or grey. Just stay away from anything red. I believe I have actually learned to hate any college that wears red.

I don't like any of the guys that wear blue either. :shakehead:
