Never got into Salute Your Shorts, a little bit too before my time. I remember seeing the intro.a few times and instantly changing the channel. Pete & Pete, Clarissa Explains It All, and Are You Afraid of the Dark are the only live action shows I watched on Nick.

Basically how over the top/exaggerated/absurd it all was. The performances(esp. Winona Ryder), the mother, the choreographers idea of homework, the post masturbation scene cut, the hallucinations, the ending, etc. I'd say a good bit of the movie was intentionally funny. I don't think it was unintentionally campy like a Showgirls which seems to be the popular comparison. I found it pretty funny at times. Maybe it wasn't. Maybe I'm weird. Pretty sure that's what Aronofsky was going for though.

I see what you're saying but I didn't get any of that. Maybe it was because we know that she is hallucinating and that it wasn't real.

There were some parts that were funny and I think there needed to be to break some of the tension a little bit.

On a side note, this movie is the reason I only go watch matinees now. I saw it twice and both times I heard people afterward talking about how they didn't understand the movie and if the feathers were real and all kinds of other crazy talk. Basically they forced me to go watch movies when the fewest amount of people will be there.
