Anybody had the opportunity to dine/stay here? Purchased a two-night stay on Craigslist and a friend and I are staying the first weekend in December.

I haven't been but I've only heard great things about the resort and the food.

Craigslist??

You and a friend?

Probably not somewhere I would go w "just a friend".

How did you buy it off Craigslist? You sure it's legit?

There was a couple who received a stay as a retirement gift and they resold it on craigslist. I got it ridiculously cheap compared to what (apparently) a two-night stay at BBF is worth.

She better be freakin hot! That place is $$$$$$$!!!!

If she's mediocre, you gotta trade up.

I have never been as I am pretty sure I couldn't afford the cup of coffee after they add the 19% gratuity but the reviews run the gamut on the place. Most of them being good, but if you have time to kill look up the bad reviews and delight at the trivial things rich people will ***** about. Mismatched china can rock their freaking world!

I will say from what I understand, most of the activities are extra. A lot extra.

Do the fly fishing class.

Two of my buddies teach it and it sounds like they have a blast with ppl every single day.

I knew a guy who taught fly fishing there too. It's definitely one of their best activities

I just wanted to try the beer. But without a reservation, I got the ol' escort out. They were really nice about my misconception of what the place was and handed me a guide to their facilities, which earned a hearty laugh from me. Most of the activities offered were outrageously expensive.

I'm interested in their wine collection. Apparently they have a 160,000 bottle cellar. My friend's son works there and told me their most expensive bottle was $17,000. Insane.

I need to scout out Hesse Creek some day. I know you can hike into from a couple of angles, but finding a publicly accessible spot outside of the NP might be a lot of fun. I have a feeling almost all of it is on private property though when outside of the park.

I've eaten there seven or eight times or more and stayed there a two or three times. I take my wife there for valentine and anniversary dinners, etc. It really is remarkable and has been rated the number one dining resort in America. The food and service are off the hook good. There are additional charges and gratuities - so be prepared for that - if I were you I would call them and ask them what all is included and what isn't. Let me know if you are interested in selling what you bought on craigslist. We typically go with the tasting menu - be prepared for a lot of unusual but great food. It isn't a place for you and "a friend". The other guy is right - you need to trade up if you are staying there. You will need a dress coat for dinner and will need to dress nicely at all times to fit in. What else do you want to know about it?

Well all we know about it so far is we are staying in a "Hill Cottage," Whatever that means. I have researched the menuss and we will definitely be doing the tasting menu one night, but might opt for the casual dining experience the next. What's their bar like? And what can you expect to find on the property?

It's farm to table, so they grow and raise a lot of what u will eat.

The hill cottages are ok - I didn't love the beds but the rest is very nice.
