By the end of the summer, we'll be involved with at least 3 top 25 recruits.(hvwarrior58 @ Apr 27 said:If I had to guess at this point, I'd say the top of our board has:
1a. Guard C. Harris
1b. Guard E. Moore
1. Wing C. Tatum
1. Post J. Hickson
2. Post C. Barnes
3. Post M. Sanchez
I'd say that Hickson is at the top of the overall list, the Harris, Moore, and Tatum will be tight for the 2 spot. Tatum may have the edge because we need a swing, that is if Passley isn't back. Tatum may still be the top guard priority.
Remember this post. If Huggins doesn't wrap up Mayo, Beasley, and Walker quickly, Tennessee will end up being a player for each of them.(hvwarrior58 @ Apr 27 said:Well, I know by some services Hickson is top 25 and top 5 post. Moore's stock is sky-rocketing and he could easily end up top 25. Tatum should be but it won't be easy with him reclassifying.
I'll take what we already have plus those three for one year. I don't think Syracuse regrets taking Carmelo Anthony for one year. That worked out well.(hvwarrior58 @ Apr 27 said:That'd be nice, but I'm not sure how much I want 3 players that won't be here for more than 1 year. You can't build a program around 1 and done, no chemistry. I'd rather have Moore, Tatum, and Hickson, but obviously I'd take Mayo, Walker, and Beasley.
I think the scholarship offer to Tatum was symbolic. It's apparent he's not going to qualify. Memphis is set at point guard with Allen and Kemp. I don't think quality recruits worry that much about who's already in a program. They're more concerned with the coach and style of play.(knox33 @ Apr 27 said:Ok, I have a couple of questions and maybe y'all can help me out. First, what chances do we have of getting Moore? I mean it would be nice to get an in state prospect again, but is he more interested in UConn and Memphis? Do you guys think because we are now stacked at the guard position (except PG) other recruits are going to shy away from us or do you see someone transferring? Also, is Tatum going prep? (sorry if this question has been addressed earlier) On scout, who isn't always reliable, it has that we offered him a scholly? How is that possible if Passley is currently still in the program?
Stephon Marbury carried Ga Tech to the Sweet Sixteen, North Carolina wouldn't have won the championship last year without Marvin Williams, Kenny Anderson got Ga Tech to the Final Four, and I'm sure Memphis is happy with the result of one year with Shawne Williams.(hvwarrior58 @ Apr 27 said:It did work for one year, but they also had McNamara and we have no point like him. That was also 1 player, not 3. And how many other times has that happened? Seriously, I'm curious.
Pearl's midwestern contacts would help with the Cincinnati twosome, even though my guess is that they will both be at Oak Hill or Laurinberg Prep next year. Beasley isn't going to K-State because of Huggs, he's going because Huggs hired Dalonte Hill as an assistant. If his mother, who has already expressed reservations about her son playing in Manhattan, KS, raises enough hell, UT will be a nice compromise choice between Charlotte and K State. UNC and some other logical choices for Beasley already have stockpiled a number of frontcourt players.(hvwarrior58 @ Apr 27 said:BTW, why would those 3 be interested in us? Especially over the Coach that all 3 have waited to come back since he left.
Wright won't be ready after one year. I think you're selling Pearl short. The question can just as easily be why not UT? We run, we're in one of the power conferences, we have an energetic coach and a massive arena. Also, if they make the Final Four at UT, they're the first. At other places, they're just another in a line of guys.(hvwarrior58 @ Apr 27 said:But they could go pretty much anywhere in the nation. Why UT? UNC did get some good frontcourt players, but Hans and Wright will be gone after this year.
